🚨🚨🚨🚨 I want to share that Rooted Minds will NO LONGER be participating in Empanada Fest this Saturday. 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

I recently learned that an ICE agent serves on the event’s board. As a Latina small-business owner, I do not support ICE or its policies, and I cannot participate in an event connected to an organization whose leadership includes an ICE agent.

I care deeply about the safety and well-being of my communities, including my Hispanic supporters, and I want to ensure that everyone feels safe and welcome. For that reason, I have decided that I will not attend or operate a booth at this event.

I understand that I may not receive a refund of my $200 booth fee, but I believe this decision is necessary and consistent with my values. Thank you to everyone who has supported Rooted Minds and respected this decision.

I will be at my Tia’s Raza Bar is East Chicago on Sunday. I will be on the patio with a Shirt and Hat Bar.
