The OPTIONS Weaving Studio is the latest business, owned & operated by OPTIONS, that provides meaningful work for men an women with disabilities. Karen Pfeifer, owner of Middendorf's Restaurant, started the Weaving Program at OPTIONS in October 2012 with her dedicated friends, JoAnn Ziller and Betty Franson, after seeing a similar program in Germany. The Weaving Program began as an enrichment acti
vity and transitioned to an OPTIONS business that provided employment for people with disabilities. Today, in addition to our enrichment program, we have 4 weaving artists entrepreneurs who create beautiful, unique items including rugs, scarves and dish towels under guidance of Pfeifer and her team. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm. We recommend that you call ahead to insure that product is available (985-345-6269). The Studio is located right next to the OPTIONS Garden Center on the OPTIONS Main Campus, 19362 W. Shelton Road, Hammond, LA. OPTIONS is a private, non-profit agency that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live and work in the community.
