Hello and welcome to More Than A Mama!
My name is Mary Ashley Owens and I live outside of Atlanta, GA with my sweet family of three. I grew up on the mission field and moved across the world more than once, but no matter what continent I was on, I have always had a love for crafting. This passion started as a child and I even sold some of my creations in high school; it has always been a huge part of who I am and how people know me.
When I became a mama three years ago, I felt like I lost my identity as an individual. On top of that, my husband and I had just moved away from our loved ones and the loneliness, depression, and anxiety were intense. About a year and a half into motherhood, I started crafting again, and it was like the clouds were lifted. We also became involved in our community and made friendships that filled in some emotional gaps. During this time I was fighting “mom guilt” to put self care at the wayside. The Lord convicted me that I am more than a mama and in order to be my best for my little family, I need to fill my cup before I can pour anything out. This epiphany, along with the absolute JOY that I find in gifting to others, gave me the name and the mission for my shop. I want my creations to have a world-impact, so when you shop More Than A Mama, 30% of all sales are given to ministry: 10% to my home church, 10% to world missions, and 10% to local missions and/or individuals in my community who need assistance.
My hope is that you find something you love here in my shop and that it reminds you to chase after the passions that the Lord has laid on your heart and to use your unique gifts to serve others. Thank you for visiting!
