After a great deal of thought, care, and heartfelt conversation, we’ve made the very difficult decision to close Public Thrift. This wasn’t easy—but we believe it’s the most honest and thoughtful step forward for our team and the values we’ve built this space on.

Public Thrift began in 2019 as a dream shared among friends, and in 2021, we opened our doors. Since then, it’s been a true joy getting to know the Hamtramck community, building relationships, and growing alongside so many of you. We are deeply grateful for the support, care, and connection you’ve offered us over the years.

While this chapter is coming to a close, we hope Public Thrift may return in a new form someday. For now, we’ll be focusing on winding things down in May—and we hope to see you in the shop as we say goodbye.

What to expect:
    •    We’ll have limited hours through the end of May—stay tuned for updates on our schedule and upcoming sales, which we’ll be sharing shortly.
How you can help:
    •    Come shop with us! Every purchase helps us cover remaining costs. We are not taking any compensation during this time, so your support truly means the world as we wrap things up.
