I got Jimmy a tripod for recording. He’s a natural. He popped a nice piece of Float Copper while metal detecting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He’s still running a Minelab Equinox 800 with a 15” coiltek coil.

I found this while metal detecting. I only kept it because it was close to my truck. We usually leave rocky float copper behind. I’m glad I kept this one. One of my top favorite finds of all time.

Jimmy’s hot streak finding Michigan Float Copper while metal detecting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula continues. I had to bring the dolly and help him on this one. Skip to the end if you’re impatient, big and beautiful.

Still cranking out cement mixer copper nuggets before winter gets here. I toss in native copper and “ugly” float copper into a concrete mixer and tumble these for 8 hours. They’re kind of cool.

My projects for the week on specimens of Michigan float copper. Aaron Maki made me some awesome spinning stands. These pieces of float copper were all found while metal detecting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
