Today was one of those days when the vision for The Mae House began to feel a little more real. Marcy (Born Again Interiors) and I went treasure hunting and came home with the most wonderful collection of old, beautifully imperfect pieces—including two primitive carved wooden vessels, a rustic beam bench and a little landscape painting.
We found all of these special pieces here:

The smaller wooden vessel may hold rolled towels beside the freestanding tub, while the taller one could hold bath salts and a wooden scoop. The old bench will sit at the foot of the bed, surrounded by painted white floors, flowing linen, warm caramel tones and lots of natural texture.
I was so inspired by our finds that I came home and immediately began designing my vision for the bedroom around them!
My favorite surprise was the landscape painting Marcy is holding. I’ve had an empty carved wooden frame at home for nearly 20 years and have never found the right thing to put inside it. Somehow, this painting fits perfectly—as though the two pieces had simply been waiting all these years to find one another.
Those are the details I want The Mae House to be filled with: things that have history, things that are repurposed and things that seem to find their place at exactly the right time. 🤍
