One of the biggest mistakes GCs make with polished concrete is waiting until after the walls are up.
When we polish before framing and drywall, the process becomes much faster and more cost-effective.
✔ Up to 50% faster production – machines run wall-to-wall
✔ Lower cost – eliminates slow edge grinding
✔ No risk of damaging finished walls
✔ Keeps the construction schedule moving instead of becoming a late-stage bottleneck
Once the concrete is polished with UltraPro, the system itself helps protect the slab during construction. Most of the time the floor can stay open, and paint or drywall splatter scrapes right off during final clean.
At punch list, we simply return after final cleaning to apply a final sealer coat and burnish to restore the shine.
If additional protection is desired, UltraPro ProTect breathable floor protection can be installed—but in our experience about 90% of projects leave the polished floor exposed.
At Advantage Flooring Inc., we’ve been installing polished concrete like this for over 33 years, helping GCs complete projects faster and at a lower overall cost.
