Japanese’s Beetles have made their appearance in our areas in past week! Watch your roses, grapevines, hibiscus, peonies, hollyhocks and more. Hand picking and insecticidal soap are best organic methods.
If you set traps set them on edge of property you actually are attracting them.
You can also use seven dust and a few other effective chemicals to prevent or eliminate them on plants.
1st pic is actual Japanese Beetle
2nd pic is damage they do on leaves. So you know you have them.

I’m already finding Tomato Hornworms on my tomatoes. They love the nightshade vegetable family… peppers and tomatoes.
Yes, you want to remove them from crops they have a HUGE appetite and will destroy your plants overnight.
Hand picking is the best line of defense.
‼️If it has white, rice-like bumps on its back: Leave it alone. These are the cocoons of beneficial braconid wasps. The wasps have parasitized the caterpillar and will use it as food before hatching to kill other garden pests‼️

🚨One tip I forgot to mention was to turn off night porch or any lights at night.

As I close the doors on another season at Daybreak Greenhouses, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.

Thank you to every customer who stopped by, shared a kind word, trusted me with your gardening questions, attended my events, purchased plants, or simply supported my small business this year. Whether you visited once or became a familiar face throughout the season, you helped make this year special.

Running a greenhouse is a labor of love, and none of it would be possible without your support. Watching your gardens grow and hearing your success stories is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

While my regular ‘spring’ season has come to an end, I hope you’ll continue to follow along. You can still find me on the Master Gardener’s Garden Tour on June 20th, at and the MadCity Beauty Bash on August 15th I’d love to see some familiar faces! Don’t forget MUM sales will start in September!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Daybreak Greenhouses. Your encouragement, friendships, and loyalty mean more than words can express.

“Every plant has a season, thanks to you, this one was beautiful!🫶🏻
Happy Gardening! 🌻💚

Only 350 more mums to go! 🌼

The best time to plant mums is during a good rain—it keeps those plugs from drying out and makes transplanting so much easier. The downside? By the end of the day, you look like someone dumped a bucket of water over your head! 😂☔️

Thankful for Alani Nu, Gold Peak Tea, and my Turtlebox keeping me fueled, hydrated, and entertained while I power through! 💪🎶🌼
I forgot to add my activity level!😬😎
