The Satanic Rituals. [Rare 1st hardcover edition]. Secaucus/New York: University Books/Avon, 1972. Hardcover. First hardcover edition. 220pp. Publishers red cloth over boards title in black print to spine. Appears to be unread. A very tiny ding at top of back cover. A small remainder mark at bottom corner of bottom text block no affect to book, else book is near fine. A beautiful copy of this rare first edition hardcover. Illustrated dust jacket with some very minor blemish rubbing to edges [as per norm with this early black jacket] excellent overall and in new protective mylar. We locate only two other copies of this scarce first edition hardcover at much higher price and in less better condition. A rare find for any collector of the occult, LaVey, and or the roots of Satanism. First published in 1972 The Satanic Rituals by Anton Szander LaVey - the book outlines nine rituals and ceremonies intended for group performance. The book was/is initially a companion to The Satanic Bible first published in 1969. There is an introductory essay to each ritual. The book also includes the child baptism ritual Lavey used for his youngest daughter Zeena at the first publicly recorded Church of Satan baptism. In 1972 University Books published a limited run of the first hardcover edition which is by far much more scarce than the mass produced paperback first edition. The very few hardcover editions that still exist are hard to find in good condition due to the solid black jacket. “Anton LaVey (1930-1997) American author and counterculture figure who founded the Church of Satan... Lavey presented Satanism not as the practice of evil or as the worship of an actual Antichrist but as a kind of ethical egoism. According to LaVey traditional religions were fundamentally hypocritical and dangerously inhibited the physical tendencies and emotional needs that were vital to human life... :aVeys Satanism was in fact atheistic: the opposition between God and Satan represented for him the struggle between hypocisy and repression... LaVey was also not a nihilist: he instructed his followers to obey the law and he taught that indulgence in pleasure could be beneficial only if it did not harm others.” [-Encylopedia Britannica]. Reposting. I have not listed this online as of yet (as a set or as singles). Was putting it out here first - for offers. The first three books are scarce including the Gunslinger which is the only hardcover printed after the initial first printings long ago (which are quite expensive). The last four books are all first editions. I'm looking to sell this as a set first and willing to hear offers - PM for info. I have found a couple other full sets online for MUCH more than I would take. Hit me up. Would make a great gift at a great price.

Giving up the opportunity to buy the complete 7 volume saga of Stephen King's The Dark Tower. Offering this up for a short time before I decide to sell them individually. The first 4 books are scarce Viking promotional reprints (Book club editions with different art and an intro by King in each volume). The last three are First trade editions. Key factors here = 1. It's hard to find a hardcover edition of The Gunslinger at an affordable price. 2. The artwork of the re-issues are awesome. 3. You're getting the entire set in one shot (King added "The Wind Through the Keyhole" 10 yrs later and is not part of the original 7 book saga). 4. All 7 are in near fine condition/excellent. 5. You're getting them all in one shot, whether for display or to read. If you have interest PM me and I will give one flat fee + shipping depending on where you live. This will be deadlined offer (I'm thinking I'll give this a few days before I piece them out and sell them individually). Thanks for looking.

A Dark Parks favorite - just in... Clive Barker's Thief of Always. First edition 1992. Signed by Barker on the title page. Scarce hardcover. Fully illustrated with full-page b&w sketches by Barker throughout. One of my favorite books of all time. This book is one of the first to kick off the youth/adult genre of the early 90s infusing fantasy & light horror for kids and adults, alike. Priced to go at $100.00 + ship.
