Todays post comes with a little bit of a history lesson thanks to , The DC shield shape was exclusive to the DCFD, just like FDNY, LAFD and Boston have theirs. The shape is actually similar to the US Capitol dome and came on the Cairns Senator (tin) helmets, which also have been said to be a DC thing. We had the privilege to make a few of these unique shields. Here is a couple that we have recently completed.
