Sometimes, the simplest stitches are the ones that open up a whole new world of sewing!

Join us on Thursday, September 24th, from 4:00–6:00 PM for our Hand Sewing Techniques class and learn the timeless art of sewing by hand, the old-fashioned way! ❤️

Whether you're completely new to hand sewing or already know a few stitches and want to expand your skills, we'll cover several essential construction stitches, including the running stitch, back stitch, invisible stitch, blanket stitch, and hem stitch, with the possibility of learning even more if time allows.

These aren't embroidery stitches; they're practical techniques that can be used to construct a garment or complete an entire sewing project by hand. It's a wonderful opportunity to slow down, learn something new, and connect with the traditional side of sewing.

Fabric, needles, and thread are all included, so just bring yourself and your curiosity!

Is your 4-thread serger still a little intimidating? You're not alone! If you've been afraid to change settings or aren't quite sure what all those threads can do, this class is the perfect place to build your confidence.

Join Sylvia for Serger Tips & Techniques - Part 1, where she'll walk you through the basics of 2, 3, and 4-thread stitches. You'll learn how to make the adjustments for each stitch and create your own samples, complete with cards listing the settings used on your machine to reference later.

We're offering two opportunities to take this special class: Thursday, September 3 from 4:30-6:30 PM, or, for those who can't make it during the week, Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.

You're welcome to bring your own serger, or you may use one of ours by prior arrangement. All supplies are included except serger thread.

Join Kathy on Friday, September 25, from 9:30 AM-4:30 PM for The Perfect T-Shirt, a beginner-friendly class designed to help you create a shirt that fits your figure, not hide it!
This is a T-shirt pattern unlike any you've tried before. It's designed with a "real" woman in mind and addresses some of the most common fitting challenges, including a high round back, forward shoulder, full bust, and full hip. You'll learn how to customize the fit through the shoulder and neck areas, with three neckline choices and four sleeve lengths to choose from. A full bust adjustment will also be included if needed.

And the best part? You'll go home with a T-shirt customized to your figure, along with a pattern you can use over and over again! ❤️

Supplies are not included, but don't worry, students receive 10% OFF their class supplies.

🧵✨ Learn to Sew at Ragtime Fabrics! ✨🧵

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but weren't quite sure where to start? Our Learn to Sew Classes are designed to give you the confidence and skills to take on your next project!

During this full-day beginner-friendly class, you'll learn about different fabrics, how to properly use a sewing machine, and how to work with a commercial sewing pattern. By the end of the day, you'll have created a comfortable pair of pajama or lounge pants and, more importantly, you'll be past the beginner stage and ready to tackle your next sewing adventure! 🪡✂️

Classes are held from 9:30 AM–4:30 PM on September 12, October 3, November 7, and December 5, giving you several opportunities to join us and start building your sewing skills.

Have your own machine? You're welcome to bring it! Don't have one yet? No problem, we have Baby Lock sewing machines available in our classroom for you to use.

Supplies are not included, but we'll be happy to help you find everything you'll need. Visit Ragtime Fabrics before your class to pick up your fabric, thread, elastic, pattern, and any sewing tools you may need. Class students receive 10% OFF their supplies! 🎉
