FLIGHT #56 - May 20th, 2026

PARKING INFO FOR WELCOME HOME:

*ALL Welcome Home visitors (with only one exception) are asked to park in the REMOTE LOT at Fort Wayne International Airport, located at the corner of Ardmore Ave. and NW Perimeter Rd.

*There will be shuttle buses running from the remote lot to FWA for Welcome Home starting early evening and running late enough to take you back to your car after the festivities.

*FWA will only provide FREE parking for those parking in the REMOTE LOT. Parking in the long-term lot will NOT be free as it has been in the past.

*The only exception to parking in the REMOTE LOT is for guests who have a handicapped hang tag and/or license plate. Guests with handicapped tags or license plates are welcome to park in the handicapped parking. If guests with handicapped tags park on the remote lot, we will have HFNEI staff available to assist them.

ARRIVAL TIME FOR WELCOME HOME:

*We all know that predicting airplane arrival times can be tricky, but as of right now, our Flight #56 is scheduled to arrive at FWA at 10 p.m. We know that sounds late, but coming out for Welcome Home will not only warm the hearts of our honored heroes, it will also leave you with a grateful heart and a smile on your face.

*We suggest that you arrive somewhere between 8 and 9 p.m. Since nearly everyone needs to park in the REMOTE LOT and ride the shuttle to the terminal, we want to make sure you have time to catch a shuttle, find a spot in the terminal, and enjoy the festivities.

*Most folks should be able to fit inside the terminal, but as always, we suggest coming prepared for the elements, just in case.

FRIENDLY REMINDER:

We desperately want the last veteran off of the plane to have the same experience at Welcome Home as the first veteran off of the plane. If you are able, please wait with your family until one of the HFNEI staff members gives the β€œall clear” of the last veteran coming through the crowd. We appreciate your time and effort in showing gratitude for ALL of our nation’s heroes on this flight.

Thank you for helping us make Welcome Home run smoothly for our heroes!

Big thanks to Richarh Tyson for offering me this opportunity!

Pre-Premiere Review:

Asphyxia is the newest feature from Richarh Tyson Films. It premieres Thursday at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Indianapolis.

I hate to miss this event, but never fear, Richarh has hooked us up with an opportunity to see the entire film in advance. So, you're getting an early look through my eyes.

Promotional materials contain this description: "A chilling thriller about a tech-savvy predator who lures s*xually frustrated wives into deadly encounters. As Detectives Keyan Monroe and Monica Zamorano unravel the disturbing pattern behind the murders, they uncover a seductive online world of hidden desires - and a killer whose motives reach far deeper than pleasure or pain. With each victim, the danger intensifies, and the hunt becomes a personal war between justice and obsession."

First, let's just get this part out of the way. I really enjoyed watching this movie.

I didn't really know what to expect going into this film. I watched the same trailer as everyone else and had no other hints or background.

I watch a lot of independent films. I regularly share criticism of long openings and deep back stories that you have to grind through before the movie "really starts". This is not one of those movies, they jump right into the action and start tallying a body count from the very beginning.

I hope to compel you all to check out Asphyxia, but since the movie isn't out yet, I'm trying really hard not to drop any spoilers.

It's no secret this movie is about murder, but this isn't a gore-fest. I like a blood and guts horror as much as the next guy, but this story just didn't need it. The violence fits the story and only goes as far as it has to, without going too far.

It's no secret this movie is about s*x, and don't get me wrong, this movie is s*xy. But again, the film takes this as far as the story demands without being obscene.

You can check out the IMDb page for a full cast and crew list, for now I'll just cover a couple of standouts.

One is Eric Washington. I'm not sure that I could just hang out with this dude after seeing him in this role. I 100% believe he could take me out in true psycho fashion, but we've heard he's actually a super nice guy in real life 🀣

The other standout to me was Lamont Coleman. Music plays a big part in this film and this is another case of what you leave out being as important as what you put in. The score for this film follows the characters through a diverse set of scenes, from a mansion masquerade to a noisy strip club. The soundtrack supports this movie everywhere that it needs to, without getting in the way.

If you have a chance to attend the premiere, you will be glad that you did. If you can't be there on Thursday, be sure to follow Richarh Tyson on Facebook for announcements on other opportunities to watch.

I want to personally thank Richarh for offering me (and our readers) a look behind the curtain before the red carpet is even rolled out. I'll put a link to the trailer in the comments.

We're going to get Josh on our YouTube channel one of these days for a collab video. Maybe even a giveaway 😎

Josh was around for our first few wholesale deliveries back when we first started. We sorted the first several thousand items in the living room (because it didn't seem like that much) until we were all knee deep in the stuff 🀣

Thank you all for your support, now let's get The Woodlawn Collection to 6,000 😎

We're going to hit 6,000 followers before today is over!

You guys know that I don't monetize any of this, and I really don't care about the numbers or the algorithms. I care about getting relevant content to relevant audiences, unfortunately the numbers game is all a part of that.

So why is this weird and arbitrary number such a big deal for Haunted and Paranormal Blackford County? Because there are only 6,000 people in our little town.

In less than one year, with very little original content from me, our friends and neighbors have made this page our largest web presence to date.

Haunted and Paranormal Blackford County has been our fastest growing page ever, outpacing all of our other initiatives (some more than 6 years old) in growth, and now in size.

There are about 12,000 people total in our entire rural county, hitting 12,000 is my new goal.

Thanks for coming along on this journey. I appreciate each and every one of you πŸ‘»πŸ˜Ž
