Maple weekend day 1 is in the books. And what what a day it was!! Literally a full house all day. Hundreds of visitors Thank you everyone that came out to Weglarz sugar makers to help us celebrate our first big event. It was so great to see everyone we knew and meet lots of new people from all over too. We are looking forward to another day of it tomorrow 9-4. Hopefully the snow will stay away. Thank you to all our family and friends that came to help work to make the day great too. We love you all!

Maple weekend is just a few days away. We have been working very hard to participate in our first year of the festivities. There are many sugarhouse across the state that will be participating #. If you go to https://vermontmaple.org/visit/maple-open-house-weekend yoo can see the map of where the farms are and what each one participating has to offer. Some large and some small. They all have a unique opportunity to offer to visitors. Take the day to see some fun places and try some wonderful Vermont products. We hope you will come visit!

Eric & the boys finished tapping yesterday. About 3800 taps total. The tap is connected to a plastic pipe which brings the sap down the hill to holding tanks. A vacuum pump is put on the lines which helps to draw the sap from the trees faster. We have not had sugaring weather yet but it is coming later this week hopefully. The days have to be above freezing and nights cool for the sap to run. Once the tanks are full of sap it is brought by truck to our sugarhouse where it is sent thru the RO and boiled down into maple syrup. Last year we made just under 2000 gallons of syrup.

We are gearing up for the 2026 sugaring season. The boys have been tapping and hopefully we will get some weather for it to start to run next week. This will also be our first year doing the Vermont Maple Weekend March 21&22 from 9-4 Eric is very excited about this! Hope people will join us.

Big doings at weglarz sugar makers the last few weeks. The new arch we ordered last summer arrived at long last. And we had the first boil of the season on it Thursday. It sure Is a big upgrade. Eric was very excited with how it has gone so far. It decided to snow and get cold the last few days. So now we are back on hold waiting for sugaring weather to return. Anxious to get boiling again! Fresh batch of maple cream just came out of the machine for holiday orders. Maple Cream is a spread for toast, bagels, etc or straight out of the jar. It is 100% maple syrup so no dairy, all natural sugar no preservatives. Lasts for months refrigerated after opening. $10 a half pound made right here in Hartland, VT. Locals may pick it up from our sugarhouse on request or we are happy to deliver close by. We also have plastic containers of syrup in all three grades and sizes. It’s fall now and soon the holiday shopping will be upon us. But this year with Covid it will be even harder than usual. Why not support local and give the gift of Vermont at its finest.
