Russell Forest Products Russell Forest Products was established in 1978 as a provider of forest products in North Alabama.

The company currently stocks over 8 million board feet of lumber and plywood, as well as Roseburg Forest Products RFPI® joists & RigidLam® LVL, & rim board. The company was initially a supplier of wholesale lumber products, to the furniture industry. In 1984, Russell Forest Products began manufacturing and distributing packaging for the wire and cable industry, including nailed wood, plywood and plastic reels. Since its inauguration, Russell Forest Products has grown to encompass over 200,000 square feet, including multiple reel manufacturing plants. Contract assembly facilities strategically located allow us to provide just-in-time delivery to a large portion of the U.S. The company currently stocks over 8 million board feet of lumber and plywood, as well as Roseburg Forest Products RFPI® joists & RigidLam® LVL, rim board, various sizes of plywood, nailed wood and plastic reels.

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales & Logistics Coordinator to support our growing transportation operation in Hartselle, Alabama. This role blends inside sales, customer relationship management, and day-to-day logistics coordination. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with customers, drivers, and carriers while managing freight movements from start to finish.
This position plays a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction, supporting revenue growth, and ensuring smooth and efficient transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities
Inside Sales & Customer Support

Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers
Respond to inbound sales inquiries and generate new sales opportunities
Prepare and provide freight quotes and pricing
Negotiate rates with customers and carriers
Maintain accurate customer and sales records in CRM systems

Logistics & Transportation Coordination

Schedule and coordinate truckload and/or LTL shipments
Communicate with drivers, carriers, and dispatch teams
Track shipments and proactively address delays or issues
Ensure proper documentation (BOLs, rate confirmations, delivery receipts)
Assist with carrier onboarding and compliance as needed

General Duties

Work closely with sales, dispatch, and operations teams
Resolve customer and carrier issues quickly and professionally
Maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in inside sales, logistics, trucking, or transportation (preferred)
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
Comfortable working with computers, CRM systems, and transportation software
High level of organization and attention to detail
Self-motivated with a customer-focused mindset

Preferred Skills:

Experience with freight brokerage, carrier operations, or dispatch
Knowledge of DOT regulations and trucking terminology
Experience quoting and pricing freight

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
• Generate and distribute invoices for lumber and reel shipments
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances

• Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to ensure billing accuracy
DOT Compliance Support

Forklift Operator/Picker/Warehouse Operations

We are an established company seeking a motivated, safety minded individual to read a bill of materials, gather materials for shipment, and operate a forklift loading and unloading trucks. You must be a responsible individual with great experience driving industrial vehicles. The successful applicant will possess the ability to measure and cut accurately. Other duties include daily cleaning activities, daily equipment checks, pulling orders and filling in where needed. This company has a history of retaining employees for many years.
The successful applicant must be able to lift 70lbs, possess a can-do attitude with the math skills needed to determine efficient loading of trucks. This position requires someone detail oriented that can work in a fast-paced environment. The work is a mix of inside and outside.

Responsibilities
• Operate saw to cut material.
• Read bill of materials.
• Unload and reload material on flatbed trucks.
• Locate and move stock for shipment
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
