I’d like to address something that has happened a few times, and I’m saying this with love and respect for our customers and our community. ❤️
We’ve had people come into our store, take pictures of our displays and tablescapes, and then go to Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Dollar General, etc. to recreate the exact look using items from those stores.
We absolutely do not expect anyone to come in and purchase an entire tablescape from us. We understand that everyone has a budget, and we’re happy to be a place where you can come in, get ideas, find inspiration, and take home the pieces that work for you.
But when our displays are photographed specifically to copy them elsewhere, it honestly rubs us the wrong way.
R&M Decor on Main is a small, locally owned business. This is how we support our families, pay our bills, support our kids and their sports, contribute to fundraisers, give back to our community, and keep our little business going. Every piece we choose, every display we put together, and every late night we spend making our store beautiful is done with a lot of time, money, thought, and love.
We know we cannot compete with Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, or Dollar General when it comes to size and buying power and we’re not trying to.
But we truly believe supporting a small business in your own community should mean something. When you spend your money locally, you’re helping a real family, a real dream, and a business that is invested in the same community you are.
Come get inspired. Come take ideas from us. Come ask us how we put a look together. We’re more than happy to help.
We just hope that when you love something we’ve created, you’ll consider supporting the small business that created the inspiration in the first place.
Shop small. Support local. Keep small-town businesses alive. 🤍
We appreciate every single person who walks through our doors, makes a purchase, shares our posts, tells a friend about us, or simply chooses to support our dream. It means more than you know. 🫶🏼
