ATTENTION Downtown Hartville commercial property owners: There is free money sitting on the table, and it is waiting for you! 🏛️✨

The Downtown Hartville Civic Improvement Fund (CIF) was launched to help refresh and revitalize our downtown district, offering up to $5,000 in reimbursement grants for exterior facade restoration, painting, masonry work, windows, and property upgrades.

This funding was designed to directly benefit your business and strengthen our entire community's appeal, but it can't do its job if it isn't used! Whether your building needs fresh exterior paint, replacement windows, a beautiful new awning, or sidewalk repairs, the CIF is ready to pick up a significant chunk of the tab.

Let’s not let these resources go to waste. If you own a commercial property in the downtown district—or if you rent space and want to approach your landlord—now is the perfect time to act.

What a great 250 spotlight on Hartville Elevator ❤️

For more than 117 years, the Hartville Elevator has been a fixture of downtown Hartville and a vital part of the community's agricultural heritage. Operating continuously as a feed mill since 1909, it is the last mill of its kind in the region. Generations of farmers, homeowners, and local families have relied on the business for feed, seed, lawn and garden supplies, fuel services, and trusted advice.

In recent years, the historic property underwent a significant rehabilitation that secured its future while allowing the business to grow. Improvements included a new roof, repairs to areas damaged by years of deterioration, a new warehouse addition, a new grain elevator, and additional grain storage bins. These investments have preserved an iconic local landmark while ensuring it remains a productive and relevant part of the community.

As a Celebrated 250 building, the Hartville Elevator demonstrates that preservation is not only about saving a historic structure. It is about sustaining the businesses, traditions, and community connections that give a place its identity. By continuing to serve customers while adapting to modern needs, the Hartville Elevator remains a powerful symbol of Hartville's past, present, and future.

New Traffic Pattern
This will be a safer traffic pattern for Howard Court.

Still 2 easy ways into the parking lot, either from Maple St (SR 619) or "Chocolate St" the alley next to Hartville Chocolate Factory.

Then exit going south on Howard Ct to Mill St or further south to Lincoln to return to Prospect (SR 43).

From the Village of Hartville 5-13-2026:
Village Council passed Ordinance 1-26.08 making Howard Court one way only traffic from E. Maple St to Lincoln St SE. Traffic is only permitted to travel south bound on this section of Howard Ct. For reference Howard Ct is the road that is by the railroad tracks on E. Maple St and runs south behind several businesses on S. Prospect Ave. It was determined that the roadway is too narrow on Howard Ct at E. Maple St and only allows for 1 vehicle to fit on to Howard Ct. This was causing a traffic hazard for traffic due to the railroad tracks and the traffic light at Maple and Prospect. The ordinance took effect immediately but will not be enforced until proper signs can be posted by the Street Department. Signs are being installed today. The Police Department will begin enforcing the one-way when all the signs are posted giving proper warning to the public of the changed traffic pattern. We realize this will cause some inconvenience to some and don’t take these changes lightly but they were done for the safety of the community and all who travel here.

A send off in true Ricky & Jake's style!

We can’t put into words how much your messages of support have meant to us since we made our announcement last week that RJ’s will be closing. We knew that this place meant a lot to us, but to hear how much you all love it means more than you can ever know. ❤️

We want to close this chapter the only way we know how- with a GREAT FINAL EVENT with all of you! We’d love to see you all for one last day of shopping or just a little chit chat at the checkout desk for old time’s sake. ☺️
