Good morning to all our friends of The Summer House.
We have to tell you all something that’s hard to say. We will be closing June 30. There, we’ve just blurted it out. Ouch!
What a fun time these last years have been for us! We have made so many friends, made art and made a little money. We’ve shared our stories of pain and joy and gathered in our sunroom to share our lives.
It’s amazing what can be told at the cash register while buying a piece of Pyrex!
That’s what we’ve learned. There are a lot of lonely people carrying around heavy burdens and they just need someone to tell and it’s an honor to have been told.
I feel like we’ve heard some truly heartfelt sadness and some sky-high joys from the people who have come in, taken a seat and joined in our classes. You’ve let us in your lives.
My gosh, have we laughed up here! Wild Ladies’ Nights, spiked lemonade and cinnamon roll sugar highs probably contributed to that! Chaotic pet adoptions, Santa visits, Halloween with a billion kids. Whew!
What we want to say is thank you for accepting us into your hearts and lives and supporting us.
Ellie, Lisa and I (Elexis) have all had some life changes and we feel it’s time to set down this wonderful creation. Everything has its time. When my daughter Amelia and I started this we had no idea what it would become. It just took on a life of its own.
But, please don’t unfollow us because we have a new adventure coming up and will advertise our BIG BARN SALES here. More to come on that!
Meanwhile, please come in and see us this month. Take advantage of our sales (because we can’t move all this!). Find a way to stay connected.
This store has been a joy. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this such a sweet adventure. Hartwell, you’re the best little town there is.

If you’re wondering what to do with your morning, now that Cars and Guitars has been postponed, may we suggest swinging by and grabbing a big coffee and heading over to The Summer House for a morning of antiquing and treasure hunting. We’re cozy and dry and many of our vendors are running holiday sales.

Get up and get out in this beautiful day! Our doors are wide open, our cinnamon and maple buns are bunnin’, the sun is shining, music groovin’ and we have so many new odds and ends, bits and baubles, plants and antiques that you can spend hours browsing. If pressed, we can even make you a bad cup of coffee (but better to stop by Common Ground on your way!).

Guess what? We now have our back rooms open again after some “construction disruption”. So, we can FINALLY say YES to new vendors!
Those of you who have asked if we have booth space open, YES! Our answer is now YES!
Costs for booths vary by size. Come in and see us.
