At the Foundry’s core is its wide, clip point blade, machined from
Carpenter CTS® XHP steel. CTS-XHP is an exceptionally tough powder
metallurgy steel that is air hardened with added carbon and chromium for
exceptional corrosion resistance and edge retention. The blade is machined
with a fine cutting edge and full flat ground for even higher strength and
superior edge geometry.The presentation handle scale is engraved with the
Carpenter Steel logo and are Carpenter Custom 465® stainless steel with a
Project 70®+ Type 316L stainless back spacer. Its wire pocket clip is
Custom 465 stainless affixes to the handle for right-hand, tip-up pocket
carry. A sturdy Chris Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism locks the
blade in the open position and ready for use.

The Ruby features Hitachi ZDP-189 premium blade steel, an extremely
high-carbon, high-chromium steel. It is very hard and offers excellent edge
retention and toughness. The blade is DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated,
then laser etched with sweeping lines and their commemorative 40 Years
logo.

The handle is titanium, DLC coated, then satin-polished and etched with the
new logo (the first new one in 40 years).

The Ruby is a frame lock knife with a hardened steel lock-bar insert for
added durability. The Ruby opens with the built in flipper and the KVT ball
bearing opening system. It may be a manual knife, but it opens one handed
and so smoothly that you'll never miss the mechanical assist.

For sheer good looks, the Ruby features ruby red spacers, a custom
pocket-clip, and an oversized decorative pivot.

generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances.

The new ZT 0454 is the Blade Show's 2013 Overall Knife of the Year. This
limited edition knife, based on Dmitry Sinkevich's "Cardinator", features
the first-ever three-part Composite Blade.

Among the 0454's innovations is the first three-part Composite Blade. This
proprietary process combines several steels into a single blade. In this
case, Zero Tolerance put CPM D2 on the cutting edge and spine while 14C28N
stainless steel forms the angular design in the middle. The three parts are
laser cut like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, then permanently braze welded
together.
