The Caped Cod

Our section of the CapeAbilities Thrift Store in West Yarmouth. “The Caped Cod” is alway loaded up with tons of record store quality LPs, 45’s, CDs, cassettes, DVDs and VHS tapes. Prices are very competitive and selection is way more curated than you’ll find normally at a thrift store.

It’s helping support Cape Abilities financially and with finding work opportunities for the individuals we support.

If you’re someone who is into physical media, you should come check it out.

Also, the rest of the store has great stuff too. Huge and awesome clothing section, nice quality furniture and household goods.

I donated this to WOMR.org . I didn’t feel right cashing in on Dolly’s death for profit, but this will support community radio.

On a bit of a roll lately with the media collection acquisitions. A few weeks ago we purchased a big collection of big hair, hard rock and popular rock CDs, vinyl and cassettes. Most of the vinyl was gone before it could hit the shelves, and a lot of the CDs will end up on line on Discogs or Whatnot, but 99% of the 600 or so tapes is headed for the shelves at Cape Abilities Thrift . Lots and lots of good stuff.

On a side note. I’m going to try and be better about posting updates on here. I think what’s been holding me back is that I don’t really understand how to use Instagram. So I’m just going to stick with what I know and post on FB.

Sad to hear this. Lenny was a good guy. When I had the shop he sold me his record collection, which included about 50 copies of Cyndi’s “She’s So Unusual” on different pressings. RIP.

We are sad to learn of the passing of Lennie Petze, the A&R legend who signed Cyndi Lauper, the band, Boston, and several others.
Here is the profile we did of Petze, who lived in Mashpee. We talked to Cyndi Lauper, Petze, and others about his amazing career.
This is a Cape Cod Wave Longform story.
