e through this 1920's building just like it always has. Originally a Confectionery Shop in the 1920's the Big Red Building has housed a wide variety of businesses throughout the years. General store downstairs to the Leaky Roof Dance Hall in the 1930's upstairs. With Austin, San Antonio, Bastrop, New Braunfels and San Marcos within an hours drive and Houston only two hours to the east it is a perfect location for a day trip.

We've been watching the growth of a garden spider. A couple of days ago she was at the top of white pillar. Then the high winds came and she was gone. Showed today at the base of the stairs on the old ticket window.
Captured with a plastic shoe box.
Moved to the verdanda.
Now she has the best view in Downtown Harwood.
EDIT...Last photo.
Her original web as the storms hit. There was no way to rescue her at that height. I water lizards....I was worried.
Thankfully blew down to a safe place.
