Hey folks!

Sorry we haven’t been making as many posts as usual lately. Things have been pretty hectic recently!

Anyways, Nico and I will be on vacation for the next couple of weeks, but we’re looking forward to posting more upon our return.

Rest assured, the bookstore will be open every day as usual. Please say hi to Tinker and Sassy for us. We will be missing them!

Did you know we have a large print section? If you love to read but your vision isn’t what it used to be, come check it out. It looks like there are some pretty good books in there, but I’ve been leaving them for those that need them!

Our main table is also full of the best picks. These are books found within the store or ones that have been brought in! We make sure to price them and put them up front so they are easy to access and peruse!

This hot weather has us taking shade behind book-cover! After all, with all of our inventory, it has a multi purpose use!

We have taken this time indoors to spruce up our board game area, which has now been more spread out. We hope this allows you to find just the right game for your perfect gathering or the missing piece for your collection.

Sassy and Tinker and still waiting for you to stop by. They don't understand the term "heat-wave." After all, they live in the nicely cooled bookstore!

Open 12-6pm Daily!

Come check out these new arrivals! We’re trying something new with this reel, so I hope you like it. I’m pretty novice when it comes to social media, so this was quite the task!

A well known American symbol is the cowboy. But did you know that vaqueros existed long before the cowboy we envision now. Highly skilled on horseback, working with livestock, and using a lasso, these men were often Indigenous Mesoamericans with a strong ability to herd cattle. The word lasso comes from the Spanish word lazo, meaning rope.

Rodeos also originated in South America. The word rodeo stems from the Spanish word meaning roundup. This makes it difficult to track where the first ever rodeo occurred, with some claiming as early as 1847 in what is now New Mexico. However it wasn’t until the Prescott, Arizona rodeo that things really took off, which is still one of the most well known in the nation to this day.

We have plenty of books focused on simple history like this, from historical fiction to non-fiction. There are all kinds of ways to learn history!

Folks that follow this page probably enjoy reading, but did you know that reading has numerous other benefits?

Studies have shown that reading regularly has been associated with reduced stress, can strengthen your attention span, and even has the potential to slow cognitive decline in older adults.

The positive effects are even more noticeable in children.

Research shows that children that are read to daily encounter an average of 290,000 more words than children who are not read to regularly by the time they enter kindergarten. This boost in vocabulary gives a huge head start once they start school. Reading to children also strengthens the parent-child bond.

Stop in today and start reaping the benefits of reading. It’s never too late to start, and we have something for everyone!

Open 12–6 p.m. daily.

The sun stands low in the cloudless eastern sky, a fat, confident yellow-white ball advancing as ever for the first time toward the future and leaving in its wake the steadily accumulating past, which darkens as it recedes, making blind men of us all.
