Hatteras Light Tackle Fishing

The morning started out really tough, trying to find some fish. But we stuck with it and ended up having a good catch of Bluefish and a couple Spanish Mackeral with Stephen Hawk and his 2 boys Everett and Hudson and his dad Ed. Hudson caught the only 2 Spanish mackerel and Ed caught the 2 smallest fish at the same time. We were casting lures for everything, except for when we stopped and did some shark fishing. Stephen, hooked into the first shark only moments after the bait went in the water and about 8 other sharks attacked the one that was hooked up, and one of them bit through the main leader! After getting another bait out, it wasn't long before we were hooked into an 80 pound Spinner Shark that took us around the boat a few times and gave us a real good fight before being released beside the boat. Problem was, nobody thought about taking a picture of it. We finished the trip off during a little bit of clamming and the boys did real good on those also. All in all, it was a very fun day on the water......

I always wish I had taken more pictures while we were catching the fish but it usually doesn't happen. Chris Gibbons and his 2 sons, Noah and Owen, from Ohio ( you can tell their from Ohio by the straw hats), caught a lot of nice Spanish Mackeral and Bluefish, casting artificial lures. We caught a bunch of smaller size Spanish that were of legal size to keep but released all the ones that weren't hurt too bad. Same with the bluefish.

Steve Ocampo and his friend Ryan, both from New Jersey, are very good fisherman. We called a mixture of Gray Trout, Spanish Mackeral, Bluefish and oversized Drum. Hopefully, I'll see these boys again sometime.
I still have some fishing trips available in the coming weeks.

The problem with catching Gray Trout is you're only allowed to keep one fish, per person, per day. However Delaware resident, Rudy Daisy, along with his two boys, Seth, and Trevor had a good time catching Bluefish and Gray Trout.

I have been taken Joe Belanger and his family fishing since the beginning of my career. In the past his 2 boys, Joey and Michael have gone with us. But this trip, he took his daughter, Soledad and their friends Sarah and Kennedy for an afternoon Clamming trip. They did very good!
I do have openings coming up the next few weeks. If you're interested in a Clamming trip, that normally takes place in the afternoon, so give me a call and lineup a fishing or clamming trip.

Mick, Brooks, Ryan, and Decklan caught Bar Jack's Bluefish and Gray Trout. Young Brooks even caught a baby Gag Grouper.
