As part of our Lasa + Lugar anniversary series, we’re celebrating the places behind the flavors that inspire our menu.
Every flavor has a story and a place behind it. For turon, that story takes us to Batangas.
Batangas is known for its rich agricultural traditions, and bananas have long been an important crop throughout the province. It felt only right to pair this destination with turon, one of the Philippines’ most beloved street food snacks.
Made with sliced saba bananas wrapped in a thin spring-roll wrapper, fried until golden and crisp, and coated in caramelized brown sugar, turon is a simple combination that has become a Filipino favorite. 🍌🤎
To honor this classic merienda and the flavors of Batangas, we created:
🧋🍌 Turon Milk Tea
Creamy milk tea topped with cheese foam, surrounded by caramel “walls,” and finished with crushed banana chips for an extra crunch.
Sweet, nutty, crispy, creamy, and inspired by a Filipino classic.
