UPDATE 6/30/2026 from Mary Frances Walker:

I just watched the episode (1304) of Chesapeake Collectibles (on MPT).
Just an FYI: the key was presented back to my grandfather, mounted, at a testimonial dinner that was held for him at the National Guard Hall when he decided not to run in politics anymore. It came directly to him from President Kennedy. Probably very few in the family know that. My cousin, Leonard Ferguson, and I were in attendance. We were young then.

Also, according to Annie McLhinney Cochran (granddaughter), the key was carved by her grandfather.

The mounted key is now included in the Havre de Grace History Museum collection.

It was an exciting day when Senator John F Kennedy visited Havre de Grace on his Campaign Trail for President. Read more about it here.
