🚨 TODAY IS THE DAY! 🎒🥬🍕

Our last South Hayward Market of the summer is here, and we’re going out with a bang!

Our partners are showing up for our youth and their families with free produce and free backpacks, available while supplies last.

We’re also lucky to have our friends from StrawHat Pizza showing up once again for the community. They’ll be donating a couple of pies, and Eden Youth will be handing out free slices while supplies last.

Please note: Only the pizza being handed out by Eden Youth is free. Our amazing food vendors will also be at the market selling food for anyone coming with an appetite, so make sure to come hungry and support them too!

🚨 ONE DAY AWAY! 🎒✨

Tomorrow is our final South Hayward Market of the summer, and we want to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to the incredible network of businesses, friends, and community supporters who have stepped up for our Backpack Drive.

From dropping off backpacks and lunchboxes to making monetary donations, your support has helped us secure $1,500 worth of backpacks for Saturday’s event — on top of the donated items we’ve already received.

A huge shoutout to JK Innovations and a very special thank you to our BNI Hayward Chapter: Heart of the Bay for showing up and contributing to the cause.

Because of this community, more students will start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and proud. đź’›

🚨 We’re just 3 days away from our last South Hayward Market of the summer!

Join us this Saturday, August 8, from 12–5 PM at St. Rose Hospital for our Back-to-School South Hayward Market. We’ll be giving away backpacks and lunchboxes to local students during the event, first come, first served, while supplies last.

If you’d like to support our backpack drive, please scan the QR code on this post to donate. Every dollar will go toward purchasing more backpacks and lunchboxes for students in our community.

Exciting news for our Back to School South Hayward Market!

We’ll have FREE BIKE REPAIRS during the event thanks to our partners Bike East Bay, who will be supporting our good friends from Bike Hayward by providing on-site repairs for the community.

This is a huge addition to our Back to School evenT because getting a bike fixed can mean getting to school, work, sports, and everything in between.

Bring your bike, stop by the repair station, and get ready for the school year with us.

Before we share our highlights from this past weekend, we need to announce what’s coming next—because August is going to take all hands on deck to make it extra special.

On August 8, South Hayward Market is turning into a Back to School Giveaway centered on the people who deserve the most investment: our South Hayward youth. Eden Youth and Believe Holy Spirit have shown up year after year with an annual backpack giveaway, and this time we’re leveling it up with even more partners stepping in to help.

First major announcement: West Coast Makers will offer a $25 vendor fee for any vendor who brings at least one new backpack to donate to the giveaway. Our community goal is big: 300 new backpacks collected before the market begins.

Want to help? DM Eden Youth, Believe Holy Spirit, or any of our partners, or drop off a new backpack at Eden Youth’s main office on 680 W. Tennyson Rd. during operating hours 9am to 4pm. More updates soon—thank you for helping us make this Back to School giveaway unforgettable.

This is why we chose Diversity as our July theme. (7/11 | 12pm - 5pm)

With our next South Hayward Market landing just one week after Independence Day, we wanted to stay in that same patriotic spirit—but center the message that truly reflects who we are: together, we are America. (Yes, we’re keeping that halftime/Super Bowl energy.)

And there’s no better place to celebrate that than Hayward—the most diverse city in the most diverse county in the United States. Here, “America” looks like many languages, cultures, foods, traditions, and stories all living in the same neighborhood—building community side by side.
