We are closed on Thanksgiving Day. Bluebird Christmas Tree Farm offers a family-oriented alternative to mass-marketed and artificial trees. Since 1988 we have provided the freshest tree possible. You may choose to cut your own tree, have our friendly staff cut it for you, or select a precut tree. We have Leyland cypress, Virginia pine, Norway spruce, and Fraser fir. Our gift shop and pavilion offers a cheerful fire, hot chocolate, apple c***r, and a selection of excellent local jams, honey, and handcrafted items.

For the first time in many years, you will be able to cut large trees at Bluebird. We have over 300 hundred that are from 9- to 11-feet tall. We have shorter trees in the field as well.
As usual, we will have hundreds of pre-cut Fraser firs, ranging in height from 6 feet to 10 feet and ranging in price from $55 to $190.
We look forward to seeing you after we open on November 19th.

Earlier this week, Tennessee Agricultural Commissioner Andy Holt and Tennessee State Representative Rick Scarborough toured the farm. Also on the tour were several Tennessee agricultural consultants and local 4H and County Extension agents.
Matt Smith and I discussed the origin, goals, and day-to-day operations of the farm. Matt demonstrated jobs related to caring for the trees, including shearing them. Commissioner Holt volunteered to shear one. It looked so good he will be returning to the farm in November to claim it as his personal Christmas tree.

We will be open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm beginning the Thursday before Thanksgiving..

A recent chance encounter with a Bluebird customer gave me a new term. The lady said, “I will see you in November because I’m a Christmas Mom”. For clarification, she explained that she goes all out decorating for Christmas because she sees her home as a place where Christmas memories are made. Kids, grandkids, neighbors, and friends see her home as a stage where the Christmas spirit is on full display.
It turns out, I know a lot of Christmas Moms.

I'm a fan of Cinco Christmas tree stands. For years I assumed they were manufactured in China, along with all fake trees. Imagine my surprise when I discovered they are made in the USA. In fact, they are manufactured in my hometown of Pasadena, Texas! While visiting cousins there this spring, we drove by and took a picture.
Now you know how Christmas nerds spend their vacations.

As of Wednesday, December 3, we still have hundreds of beautiful trees in the field and hundreds of equally beautiful precut fraser firs and Douglas firs. Our supply off wreaths, garland, mistletoe, local jams, honey, ornaments, handmade crafts, and more is still very good. The Stewart family has been coming to our farm for 6 years. They have a social media channel that recently collaborated with The National Real Christmas Tree Board to produce the attached reel. It documents their family’s tradition and joy in choosing the perfect Christmas Tree. We are honored that our farm is featured in this production. We hope you enjoy this reel as much as we do.

Bluebird Christmas Tree Farm has a longstanding admiration for the dedication and commitment shown by East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in keeping children healthy within our community. Recognizing the importance of their work, the farm—together with the support of its customers—has contributed a donation of $5,000 to the hospital this year. We sincerely thank all of our customers whose patronage played a vital role in making this meaningful contribution possible and for supporting the ongoing work of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
