You may have noticed we closed early last Wednesday. We celebrated another wonderful season with our first annual slow-pitch softball game! We changed out our work shirts for homemade jerseys and rolled on over to the baseball fields to have a couple of brews and play some Chicago-style slow-pitch ball, inspired by our Chicago native and owner, Mike Hiel. Mike lived right near Wrigley Field and played on a slow-pitch softball team in a league with his friends in his 20s. They were called the Duke City Dukes.
“Very few people knew what a softball looks like, 12 inches, and fewer knew the slow pitch game. It's a game to justify drinking b**r during the day" -Mike Hiel
The seasons may be changing but we are quite done yet!
