I found these on Marketplace today. These tires would be good replacements if you have rotted turf tires. They are P for passenger car instead of LT for light truck. That is good, as they will be the softest of what are still way overrated tires. If you can get them bead-glued or use tubes, you can run them at 3-4 psi.

2 used tires mud & snow 255 / 70. R16 Both for $20. Good tread remaining

I have an uptick in visits to my page here. I do realize it is not that great.
Having said that you came here for a reason. The only reason I created this page is to help the Case and Ingersoll community. But, I am trying to do things once.
That is where you come in. I am at a disadvantage on this. Everyone has there gifts. I can teach myself it find information and use it easily. What I need is for people who have different gifts is to get me to break it down for you. I learn when I understand how something works which leads me to being able to fix it. My memory may seem shocking. My weakness is I have an horrible memory. My mind is not normal. I have never met others who learned like I did. I have two bachelor's degrees and I never time notes, yes, never. I read the text book, absorbed how the subject matter works and that sticks with me with ease.
If not for the paid version of Grammarly you would barely be able to understand what I am trying to say. That also means spelling is a challenge, too.
So their you go. Now you know my brain is not normal. But, I do live it. The Internet has been a tremendous gift. If you do anything make copious plain speaking questions in a search bar. You will have to do some reading. But, extra reading is extra learning.
By doing this and studying the actual mechanical operations, at least I can see what adjustments are needed for as close to perfect as can be achieved.

I am a guy who really pushes for the parts on the engine and tractor to be at least as good as the original. That includes NO AMAZON fuel pumps. That will never change. If you see me saying I used or that you should use a part off Amazon that is a China knock-off, you will know my account was hacked. I did give in on the Kohler carbs. I still repair the carbs, but I know how to do it. I just did one for a local guy. It needed a new throttle shaft, which I buy four at a time, so I also cleaned it. I told him to call me if he had to adjust either screw more than one quarter of a turn. He never called.

To the point, for many years now, some people have used the Facet low-pressure fuel pumps. For them, that is fine. For me and the rebuildable fuel pumps on the DD13 carbs I tell people the same thing as I do on the Kohler carbs. But, there is a but. The Nikki carbs on the P-Series engines have a fuel pump that is not rebuildable. Nikki stopped making them long ago, and finding a good knock-off has gotten very hard. I had to throw away three fuel pumps recently because they did not work well enough. The tractor would start, but it just never ran really well. So, I took the top of the carb off, and fuel was only coming out like one of those drinking fountains you would find once in a while that barely had water coming out of it, and you couldn't quite get a drink. Others did not work at all.

Now, after that, only on the P-Series, a Facet fuel pump under 2 psi is acceptable. They have worked fine for many people before I changed my course due to China dropping crap products that Americans love to buy. But, wait, there is more! Facet is making a new fuel pump. This new fuel pump stays under 2 psi, and it is made for lawn and garden tractors. These claim to eliminate v***r lock even. Now I will trumpet these pumps. You can buy them on Amazon. But these are made in the USA, real-deal fuel pumps. If you compare the new pump, which is a black one, to the original steel ones, you will find that the specs say the new pump pumps way more fuel than the original pump, which is not made for yard and garden engines. I figure the extra volume that is available is to combat the v***r lock.

Here it is.

Got my workout in today.
My rear tires are filled with liquid ballast. I run chains on them all the time. I am switching from the tires I bought years ago that are pretty worn. However, with two link chains, which are equipment chains larger than garden tractor chains,
The tires I am switching to are the same size, and they are brand new tires that were take-offs from a Kubota.
Each tire has 150 lbs of fill, another 100 lbs at least for the tire, rim, and chains. So, that is 250 lbs per tire. I had to wrestle with getting the chains on, getting the chains tight, getting the chains straight, repeat getting tire chains straight, and repeat until they are good.
What is good? Good is tire chains straight and right so that they do not fly off the tire tread as you travel and tear your fenders off.
Using a 12.50-wide tire is very challenging to get that right. These are way beyond bungee cords for tightening the chains.
I finished at 6 pm, and the arm pump took about an hour to go away.
I may have to pay for that for a couple days.

This is what happens when you buy a 648 and notice the main bypass is squealing even when using the power steering for a normal empty bucket turn.

More to follow. I will say that you cannot not reach the bypass adjustment screw cover nut with the tractor as built.

I will be found on ccigt.com for now. I bring my hundreds of followers wherever I go. I had to get used to having followers. At first, it weirded me out, thinking the people who followed me were stalkers. Maybe that is true?

I do not make money on any of those. On the Facebook groups, the volume of people looking to get a tractor fix was pretty high. The other thing that was very high was people that had no mechanical inclinations. I started copying their question and pasting their question into a search bar; then, I would copy and paste that into a reply. It was a YouTube if one appeared in the search or a forum post. They did not like that. And they complained about it too, the moderator who banned me for not giving my free help in my own words and to stop making users feel stupid.

I will not post a troubleshooting flow chart for them and tell them where the hood latch is.

This pi**ed off the do-it for my group. I was starting to hate reading these Facebook forums. The moderators also saw me as lazy and not a good source of fixing things for free, even though I was the top contributor to the group.

I have always liked the forums above Facebook. Facebook groups need to go back to posting pictures of tractor stuff and announcing things.

ccigt.com is a friendly group. I do not go there often. I can go there more often.

At least you will not get a post of a guy sitting on his tractor, turning the key, and having nothing happen. He was asking what could be wrong with it

Every since the 1990's I have paid more attention to oil. Well, it actually started when I started to drive and my neighbor Dad, Bill may he rest in peace, was more than willing to teach me what he knew, and even more importantly I was allowed to use his garage and tools. So, that backs things up to around 1980.

Back then being brand loyal had a consequence, good or bad. This is to remind me and open discussion on the subject.

Gibbs break-in oil is a game-changing oil for almost all engines, all types.

Lawn & Garden AGM Battery, 12V 350CCA BCI Group U1 SLA Starting Battery for Lawn, Tractors, and Mowers is the new king of battery types. Lawn & Garden AGM Battery, 12V 350CCA BCI Group U1 SLA Starting Battery for Lawn, Tractors, and Mowers.

AGM have always been used in the desert off-road racing or use because it is very tolerant to vibration.

SLA means Sealed Lead Acid. That means that your battery will not degrade your battery connections.

350CCA is the recommended power to start an engine in any temperature that has a load on the engine during cracking. This type of battery is also higher in AH's. This means it is a starting and deep-cycle battery.

Your local auto parts or tractor parts places may not have them in stock. Amazon does, though.

This is just one of many listings. The specs are all the specs you would want in your battery. I can not comment on the longevity yet. They do have a full warranty of 1 year. That is way more than regular batteries.

U1-350 CCA is a 12V 350 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) agm Battery.

I see that on eBay there is yet another copy of my custom linkage for improved travel control. What is somewhat puzzling is that neither copy is any better and neither copy is cheaper than my kit.

At least the newest copy does not claim they invented it.

Both copies use the larger ball joint that is more durable when it is new. But, for some tractors, the larger end joint does rub. And a much larger hassle is you have to get a drill in an area that is very hard to get to and drill the travel control lever hole from 1/4" to 5/16". I did that a couple times. It really sucks and I am very happy to get all the benefits of the new linkage and not have to drill that hole.

A customer first alerted me to this. He had the same tractor vintage as I did. When I checked it on my tractor it did indeed rub on the steering sector gear hub. You could hardly feel it rub. It was more you could see it rub.

The customer who called fixed his by grinding the needed clearance off the steering sector gear. That was a permanent fix for him. If you do not fix the issue and have the extra large ball end joint eventually the rubbing will prematurely wear out either the ball end or the pivot washer and your linkage will once again have looseness and start getting jumpy again.

But, it was an extra step for owners to do and that is not good. That is why I use the smaller joint. That smaller joint is used on very high-duty applications and is very durable. My newest lawn mower is a 1998 Grasshopper. It has many of the same exact ball ends. Just think how much more you move the levers on a zero turn as compared to changing speeds on a rider. That ball end linkage will outlast most if not all of us.

That is why I save you guys a few dollars and buy the parts in quantities of 100 or more. My current count on eBay is 249. It would be higher but I let the quantity go to zero once and lost that history some how. Then of course I sell quite a few locally and install them for people. The ball end joint with the stud I got a special deal on and my last purchase was for 300.

It is winter. What do you guys have for winter problems?

I had a 644 that was very hard to start in the winter. I found that the points were changing the gap as I tightened the screw. That also made the engine run hot to the point it would stop running.

So, that means that even the so called expert can do things wrong. I added a washer and that fixed that.

Talking point (a pun is coming) point gaps are set with a feeler gauge and most people leave it there. That gap gets you close. But it is most likely not either at the S line in the Kohler engine flywheel or the 20 degree mark on the flywheel. The only way to get the timing dead on is to static time to adjust the points.

Have any of you static timed your points engines before?

Those who are followers, I am not a collector. I use what works best, but still looks good, stockish is fine with me.
I have a set of nice, complete, 777 glass speaker lights. Even the gaskets are there.
So, if you are the "I like it to be stock" and the best version of stock, these lights are for you.
Do I actually need a photo?
Is $100 shipped fair?
