Dance season is almost here, and with it comes a major boost for our local economy.

Starting this month, McGregor Hall will host weekend dance events through June.

With up to 3,000 visitors at each event, these weekends bring new energy (and foot traffic) to downtown Henderson.

A recent Economic Impact Study highlights the importance of these events. From 2019 to 2022, McGregor Hall generated $15.6 million in local economic activity, and dance competitions were a major driver. WINDOW DECORATING CONTEST

The City of Henderson Downtown Development Commission invites you to share your holiday spirit in the 2025 Window Decorating Contest. Help brighten our downtown as shoppers and visitors enjoy creative seasonal displays throughout the day and into the evening.

Participants are encouraged to design their most festive window scenes. Judging will be based on creativity, originality, and overall theme. Windows will be viewed during both daylight and nighttime hours, so be sure your display shines at any time.

Prizes will be awarded as Visa gift cards
First Place 100 dollars
Second Place 50 dollars
Third Place 25 dollars

Windows should be fully decorated by Friday, December 5. To enter, complete the contest form with your name, the address of the decorated window, and a telephone number, then email it to [email protected]

Dear Downtown Merchants and Tenants,

’Tis the season of celebration! To make way for our festive annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Raleigh Road and Garnett Street to Rose Avenue will be closed as downtown comes alive with holiday spirit, welcoming thousands of children and adults to join in the merriment.

Henderson Downtown Christmas Parade December 6th

The parade will begin on Raleigh Road at Burger King (Raleigh Road will be closed at 12:30pm in order to mark the street) Therefore, the following streets will be closed at 1:30pm: Garnett Street will be closed from House of Toyz to Rose Avenue, including all of the side streets along the parade route. The parade starts at 2:30pm.

Please notify your staff and potential customers of alternative parking on the side streets prior to the Christmas Parade. We will open all the streets immediately after the parade. We would like very much for your business to be involved in the parade.
