💎 DENIM & DIAMONDS — WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT 💎
We’re getting close to our Denim & Diamonds Dinner, and I want to share why this fundraiser matters so much.
This is the ONE major fundraiser Back On Track Addiction Ministry holds each year, and the money raised helps us continue doing what we do every single day — helping people find recovery, treatment, stability, and hope.
It is only September 16, and already THIS MONTH we have helped 35 people get into treatment. We are also helping 2–3 people a week coming directly out of jail get connected with the services they need.
Of those 35 people, 14 needed primary mental-health treatment. These are individuals who need more than a traditional free recovery program. They need psychiatrists, counselors, therapists, proper evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management. During their treatment, they can finally begin addressing the mental-health issues that may have gone untreated for years.
Without access to these programs, many of them simply would not get the level of help they need.
I know everywhere you turn, someone is asking for money. But this is about PEOPLE’S LIVES.
This truly can be a matter of life and death.
How many more overdoses do we have to see before we, as a community, decide that enough is enough and stand together?
Yes, our Denim & Diamonds dinner tickets are $100 each. But how do you put a price on a life?
We have watched people go through our program and get their children back. We’ve watched families reunite. We’ve watched people find jobs, attend meetings, become responsible members of their communities, and begin living lives they once thought were impossible.
Every Tuesday at our Recovery Class, people who have been through our program sit beside others who are walking their own recovery journey. They encourage one another, support one another, and share stories that remind us just how far a person can come when someone refuses to give up on them.
Back On Track has come a long way, and this year has brought some incredible honors. Receiving the ATHENA Award was a privilege I will never forget. Being recognized as a Hometown Hero and receiving recognition through Drug Court have reminded us that the work being done through this ministry is making a difference.
But awards aren’t why we do this.
We do it for the next person who walks through our door and says, “I need help.”
We do it for the mother praying for her child.
We do it for the children who want their parent back.
We do it for the families who are desperate for one more chance.
And we do it for the ones who are still out there who haven’t made it through our doors yet.
