Well, I guess it's time to officially announce what we're doing at 230 E. 1st Street! Now that we have permits in the window and construction getting ready to begin, people are starting to ask questions. 😊

We're building The Inn Between Market & Suite.

The back of the building will become a cozy guest suite with a private courtyard for guests, and the front will be The Inn Between Market.

We're hoping to become Hermann's first, last, and "inn between" stop for visitors.

Forgot your deodorant? Need an umbrella because the weather changed? Want a quick snack or drink to take back to your rental? Need a phone charger, a birthday card, bottled water, or a souvenir to bring home? Wondering where the nearest public restroom is?

We hope eventually the answer becomes:

"Go to The Inn Between Market."

We'll have souvenirs and gifts, but also travel essentials, snacks, drinks, convenience items, and some things you don't realize you need until you're away from home.

We're also installing a public family restroom because we've heard too many stories of visitors having to run around town looking for one or feeling like they need to buy something just to use the bathroom.

Another thing we're excited about is a small room we're building out that will be an ever-changing micro pop-up space. Sometimes it may be our own idea, sometimes a gallery, and sometimes a space that local makers, artists, or businesses can rent for short-term pop-ups.

We'll also offer luggage holding for guests who arrive in town before check-in or have time to kill after check-out.

We have a lot of ideas, but we also plan to grow slowly. We'd rather listen to the community and our visitors and build something that people actually want and need.

Over the course of this build-out and after we open, we'll also be reaching out to local businesses and rental hosts because we genuinely want your input. What do your guests ask for all the time? What do they forget? What do they wish they could buy in Hermann but can't find? What would make their stay easier? If we can help fill some of those gaps, that's exactly what we want to do.

We're excited to get started and look forward to sharing our progress as construction continues.

Hi Popcorn Friends,

We want to share a final update with you. After a lot of thought and reflection, we’ve made the decision to permanently close The Popcorn Dispensary.

Since we closed in December, we’ve been taking time to focus on personal matters. We have come to a point where a decision needed to be made for the future. After careful consideration, it’s clear that we’re unable to reopen the shop at this time. We’re grateful for all the support we’ve received, and we want to thank everyone who visited, placed an order, and supported us over the last couple of years.

We don’t have any immediate plans for the building and will take more time to consider the next steps. At this point, we’re simply stepping back to focus on health and what comes next.

We appreciate the loyalty and community that made The Popcorn Dispensary what it was. Thank you again for being part of our journey.

Remember, our popcorn lasts 8-12 weeks in sealed bags. You can also freeze it (virtually forever) and it will taste freshly popped right out of the freezer...amazing, right!?

This pause will give us the space to rest, reflect, and determine what the future of The Popcorn Dispensary could look like — including whether an updated model might make sense down the road.

At this time, we don’t have a reopening date to share, and we also don’t want to make promises we can’t responsibly make. What we can say is how grateful we are — for every visit, every order, and every ounce of support you’ve shown us.
