✨ New Release Tuesday ✨

Another week, another giant collection of new books to read! Our community will be excited to see some of their favorite titles now in paperback, new releases from favorite authors, and something for readers of all genres. Our booksellers are enjoying:

🌞📖 SUMMER READING PROGRAM 📖🌞

The announcement is here! We are excited to introduce The Next Chapter Bookstore's Summer Reading Program 🎉

This summer, kiddos are invited to participate in a fun reading challenge and exciting new events at The Next Chapter! The Summer Reading Program is open to all kiddos in our community, preschool-aged through current 5th graders 📖

What to expect:
🌞 Bingo-style grid with reading prompts - from WHO you read with, to WHERE you read, to WHAT you read, to book EVENTS you attend
🌞 2 separate grids for different ages: preschool through 2nd grade, and 3rd through 5th grade (based on 2025-2026 school year)
🌞 NEW Family Story Hour on Tuesdays for kiddos and their grown-ups to explore new books, literacy, and hands-on activities together (beginning June 16th)
🌞 Summer Read-In event for 3rd-5th grade participants next month: join Alexis (host of the Middle Grade Book Club) for a fun evening of reading, activities, snacks, and bookish conversations
🌞 Wrap-Up Party on Saturday, August 22nd, where all participants who completed at least 12 of their 16 grid squares are entered to win the GRAND PRIZE
🌞 Prizes for ALL participants who turn in their grids

The Summer Reading Program Bingo grids will be released next Monday, June 8th, so get ready for some Summer FUN! This exciting reading challenge will run June 15th through August 22nd - we can't wait to read with our book-loving kiddos this summer!

[Friday] night, something very special happened at The Next Chapter Bookstore in Hermiston, Oregon. ❤️ On a Friday night, people of all genders, shades, and ages, came in the doors from different places and spaces. The powerful proclamations of prose and of poetry filled the silence; the words crashed through to the depths of ourselves. 🔥

We will do it again next month, and we hope to see you and hear your voice!! We have saved a space for you! 🎤

🏆 Battle of the Book Clubs 🏆

TODAY: the battle is on! We can't wait to watch the six teams battle it out with their knowledge of some stellar books, all to support an amazing cause 🎉

The community is encouraged to come watch the event today, cheer on the competitors, and learn about our charitable partner Hands & Feet Inc! We will have a representative from Hands & Feet to talk about the amazing work they do for foster families in our area, and there will be an opportunity to donate directly to their work while you are attending today's event 💛

We'll see you at the bookstore at 1pm!
