🍳 A BIG UPDATE ON RECIPE LIFT

We’ve been pretty busy behind the scenes, and there’s a lot happening with Recipe Lift — including one change we weren’t originally expecting.

First, the good news: development is moving forward! 🎉

🏠 Household Sharing is built and tested
Families can share their pantry and shopping list while having different permissions for adults and younger household members.

👨‍🍳 Cooking Mode is taking shape
Recipe Lift can help you work through a recipe step-by-step, check off ingredients as you use them, mark steps complete, and come back without losing your place.

⏱️ Cooking timers are getting better
Need another few minutes? You can add +1, +5, +10 minutes, or a custom amount without restarting your timer.

📖 Smarter recipe management
We’ve added duplicate-recipe protection to help prevent accidentally saving the same recipe multiple times.

💬 Built-in feedback
Beta testers can report bugs, suggest features, and send us feedback directly from the app.

🔔 More improvements are underway
We’re continuing to work on the cooking experience, including reliable timer-finished notifications and other quality-of-life improvements.

But there’s another important update we want to share…

🏷️ Recipe Lift may be getting a new name.

While researching the Recipe Lift name more deeply, we discovered another active product using the RecipeLift name in a similar food-related space.

Rather than ignore that and potentially create problems down the road, we’re taking care of it now, while the app is still in development.

That means Recipe Lift may launch under an entirely new name and brand.

But the app itself isn't going anywhere. ❤️

Development continues. The features we've built aren't disappearing. Our plans haven't changed.

If anything, this gives us an opportunity to create a name and identity that's truly our own before the app reaches its public commercial launch.

We already have some ideas we're pretty excited about. 👀

For now, we'll keep calling it Recipe Lift while development continues, and we'll share the new identity when we're confident we've found the right one.

There is still plenty more to build — and we're having a lot of fun watching this thing come together.

Same app. Same mission. Possibly a brand-new name.

Stay tuned. 🍳❤️

🍳 Recipe Lift Beta — What We're Working On Next

Recipe Lift is officially in beta, and real-world testing is helping us figure out exactly what needs to be improved before we're ready to take the next big steps.

We recently put Recipe Lift through an actual cooking session — from finding and saving a recipe to using Cook Mode and its built-in kitchen timer — and that immediately gave us some new ideas and improvements to work on.

🔧 Some of the fixes and improvements we're working on include:

⏱️ Better cooking timers — You'll be able to add extra time to a timer that's already counting down without stopping or resetting it.

🔔 Timer notifications — We're planning notifications that can alert you when your cooking timer finishes even when you're no longer looking at Recipe Lift.

📷 Recipe photos — We're adding better support for attaching a photo to recipes you enter, scan, or import.

📦 Smarter pantry management — We're continuing to improve ingredient matching, quantities, duplicate handling, and the connection between your pantry, recipes, and shopping list.

🍽️ What Can I Cook? improvements — Recipe Lift is being developed to better understand what you actually have available and show recipes based on those ingredients, including what you're still missing.

🛒 Shopping list improvements — We're continuing to refine the connection between recipes, shopping, and your pantry so moving food through the entire process feels natural.

📖 Recipe importing and scanning — We're continuing to improve the ways recipes can be brought into Recipe Lift, reviewed, edited, saved, and eventually cooked from one place.

And that's only part of what's planned.

Our goal with Recipe Lift is bigger than creating another place to store recipes. We want your recipes, pantry, shopping list, meal planning, cooking tools, and eventually more personalized food guidance working together.

🧪 Why is Recipe Lift still in Beta?

We're intentionally keeping Recipe Lift in beta while we continue testing and improving the core experience and complete the business, legal, compliance, and technical groundwork needed before introducing premium/paid accounts.

We're not interested in rushing paid features out the door before that foundation is ready.

For now, we're focused on building, testing, fixing, cooking, and learning from actually using Recipe Lift.

And after using it to cook a real meal ourselves, we're pretty excited about where this is headed. ❤️🍳

More updates soon from Jemini's Creative Lab.

day's work on recipelift!

1. we are working on the timer.

We wanted to make the cooking timer easier to use. So say you are making a cake or something in the oven like a turkey. "That time is getting close lol" you have 2:36 two minutes and thirty six seconds left on the timer and you just checked on the cake or turkey or whatever you have in the oven. It's not done yet and you want to add 1, 5, or 10 minutes to the timer. We did not think about that until we were cooking. So not only will you be able to add 1, 5, and 10 minutes you can add a custom time. Like your turkey is still only 100 degrees in the center and you know that a hour maybe enough you can put that in

2. family and household sharing.

So you may not be the one that cooks all the time like my fiance she wants to try this recipe but I don't have it. Ok share it in the app to family or the entire house. Like a teenager or kids want something but you don't want them adding things to the shopping list. But having access to the pantry. Kids can not directly add a item to the shopping list but they can request it be added. The same will be for removing items from pantry or modifying items quantities.

3. The what can I cook.

So the what can I cook is not very accurate yet we are working on making it as accurate as possible. We may add a section dedicated to what can I cook and give a complete list of recipes that you have 100% of the ingredients then everything with over 75% ingredients you have. Under 75% will not show

4. Scanning and importing recipes is our last piece. We want to scan our recipe cards right. Well we are working with AI to try and recognize handwriting just using your phone. But that unfortunately is a very big undertaking and I'm talking about Grandma's cards that are in cursive. The AI we tried to use was like ahhh what is this. So we are focusing on printed recipe cards like out of a book or on the back of a box. We hope our next move will recognize cursive but I definitely am not crossing my fingers. But one more thing is adding a picture to a manually imported recipe. I know some people want a visual representation of what they are going to make. I am one of them then I look at the name and decide if I want it.

🍳 Recipe Lift is coming together — and tonight I actually put it to the test!

Recipe Lift is one of the projects currently being developed at Jemini's Creative Lab, and instead of just clicking around and testing buttons, I wanted to see what it was actually like to use it while making food.

And I've got to say... I'm loving how easy it's becoming to use. 🔥

Recipe Lift is being built to bring the whole cooking process together in one place:

🥕 Keep track of what's in your pantry
🛒 Build and manage your shopping list
🔎 See recipes based on ingredients you already have
📖 Save and organize recipes
🌐 Import recipes from websites
🤖 Use an optional AI helper to create recipe ideas from ingredients you have
➕ Adjust serving sizes
⚠️ Display possible allergen information
📊 View available nutrition information
👨‍🍳 Enter Cook Mode with step-by-step instructions
⏱️ Use built-in cooking timers
🖨️ Print or save recipes as a PDF
❤️ Save favorites and keep track of recipes you've cooked

Tonight I used Recipe Lift's Cook Mode while making Creamy Chicken Taco Dip, including its built-in timer. Actually cooking with it also helped uncover some things we can make better — which is exactly what beta testing is for.

We're already adding improvements based on that real-world test, including the ability to add more time to a running timer without stopping it and timer notifications so Recipe Lift can let you know when your food is ready even when you're not actively looking at the app. 🔔⏱️

I also tested Recipe Lift's recipe-idea feature by simply giving it an ingredient — fresh corn on the cob — and it created a Grilled Corn with Garlic Butter recipe that I could review, edit, save, and use just like another recipe in my collection.

Recipe Lift is still in beta and actively being developed, so there is plenty more work ahead. But getting to the point where I can actually use something we're building in my own kitchen — and genuinely enjoy using it — is pretty damn exciting.

This is the kind of software we want to build at Jemini's Creative Lab: useful tools designed around things people actually do.

More Recipe Lift development updates coming as we keep building and testing. 🚀🍽️

🍃 I’m excited to finally announce that RecipeLift will be going live Wednesday evening!

I’ve been working on RecipeLift as a way to make recipes, meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthier eating simpler—all in one place.

With RecipeLift, you’ll be able to save and organize recipes, import recipes from the web, plan your meals for the week, keep track of what’s in your pantry, build shopping lists, and get help making meals better fit your nutritional goals.

And this is just the beginning. I have some pretty exciting features planned as RecipeLift continues to grow. 🚀

Wednesday evening I’ll make another post with the link to the live app.

⭐ If you see that post, I’d love for you to be one of the first people to try RecipeLift.

I especially want your feedback. Tell me what you love, what’s confusing, what doesn’t work, and what you wish it could do. There’s even a feedback section built right into the app because the people using RecipeLift are going to help shape where it goes next.

RecipeLift is also launching before advertising is introduced, so this is a great time to get in early and experience it without ads while that lasts.

Keep an eye out Wednesday evening for the link. 👀
