A Weil Thang

A Weil Thang A Maker whose creations weave together the quirky wisdom of an old lady and the enchanting touch of an alchemist. The arts felt like a natural home.

Check Out Our Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/aweilthang From the time I was a little girl, I was drawn to anything bursting with imagination and adventure. I brewed magical 'potions' in the bathtub, tucked Easy Bake oven creatures into church hymnals, and dove into every art class I could find—Woodshop, Welding, Sewing, Ceramics, AP Studio Art. In college, I refined my craft with acrylics, charcoal,

and watercolor. My creative spirit truly soared when I joined the Society for Creative Anachronism and Renaissance faires, where I became part of vibrant groups and guilds. I crafted my own fairy wings, flower crowns, costumes, and whimsical accessories. I still feel proud remembering the scepter I made for the Fairy Queen and the shell headpieces for local mermaids. With my friends cheering me on and after countless trades and barters, I finally shed my self-doubt and launched A Weil Thang in October 2018. Despite pauses and a few health scares, here I am in 2025, chasing my wildest dreams full-time.

Why do I make?

Because I believe the things we already have deserve the opportunity to become something beautiful.

A Weil Thang has accumulated years of supplies, unfinished works, experiments, and ideas waiting for their turn. Instead of constantly searching for the next new material, I began Saving A Weil Thang—my commitment to conquer the craft hoard and alchemize unfinished works into finished pieces.

One supply at a time.

Creating this way has become about more than reducing a collection. It is about honoring past inspiration, completing old promises, and discovering what can happen when I stay with an idea long enough to let it become something.

A closer introduction to this journey—and the Workshop behind it—is waiting on Patreon.

Some stories begin inside the Workshop before they travel out into the wider world. 🏮

My Patreon-first rhythm means paid members receive the closer look first—then, when the story is ready, parts of it may reach Facebook and Instagram 3–7 days later.

It gives me room to document honestly, share the process while it is still unfolding, and let the work lead the communication.

If you enjoy seeing the story before the finished reveal, there’s a place waiting for you beside the workbench.

Hey there, Wanderer ✨

If you’re new to this corner of the woods, I’m Jane—the Craftswoman behind A Weil Thang.

I’m a full-time artist, collector of curious supplies, enthusiastic experimenter, and maker of handmade treasures that rarely begin with a sensible plan. 😂

A Weil Thang is where forgotten materials, unfinished ideas, forest-floor inspiration, and a little creative chaos become pieces with stories of their own.

This year, I’m working through a Season of Completion: using what I already own, finishing what has waited long enough, and helping completed treasures find their Wanderers.

Whether you arrived through Etsy, an event, a friend, or one wandering scroll—I’m glad you found the Workshop.

How did you first discover A Weil Thang? 🌲

The Workshop is full of supplies waiting for their turn to become something beautiful.

Saving A Weil Thang is my commitment to stop collecting more and begin creating from the abundance already here.

Use what I have.

Finish what I started.

Turn forgotten supplies into finished treasures.

I’m conquering the craft hoard and alchemizing unfinished works into finished pieces—one supply at a time.

The complete story of my return to the Workshop is now available for free on Patreon. Follow the link in my bio to begin the journey. 🏮🌲

Who is tending the Workshop?

I’m Jane—the craftswoman, artist, collector of curious supplies, and pair of hands behind A Weil Thang.

I’ve never belonged to only one medium. My Workshop holds paint, clay, fabric, flowers, beads, leaves, trinkets, unfinished experiments, and more possibilities than I can count.

I follow the materials, the story, and the little spark that asks:

“What could this become?”

Every Workshop needs a door.

This one leads to the stories behind A Weil Thang—the works in progress, forgotten supplies, creative experiments, finished treasures, and all the wandering paths between an idea and the thing it eventually becomes.

Some doors open into shops.

This one opens into the story.

The Workshop Door is waiting for you on Patreon. 🏮

Hey there, Wanderers ✨

Less than 24 hours after returning to social media—honestly, closer to just 15 hours—we reached both of our monthly reach goals.

And we didn’t just reach them:

🏮 Facebook reached 368% of its goal
🏮 Instagram reached 334% of its goal

After being away for so long, I was nervous to begin posting again. I kept wondering whether anyone would still be there when I opened the Workshop door.

Apparently, you were all waiting just outside. 💚

We did this by starting simply: one honest life update, one Reel, and a few Stories inviting you back into the Workshop. No enormous campaign. No perfectly polished return. I just shared where I’ve been, what I’m working toward, and opened the door again.

Thank you for watching, reacting, commenting, sharing, and welcoming A Weil Thang back into your world. This little victory belongs to all of us.

The lantern is lit. The Workshop is stirring. And this is only the beginning. 🏮✨
