Five years ago today on July 28 , 2017 Captain Jax Bait and Tackle opened its doors. With only a small amount of items on hand but a large amount of dedication and passion for fishing, we managed to grow our shop. We are what Drake was talking about when he said “started from the bottom” . We didn’t buy an established bait store, we had to work countless of hours to get where we are today and build connections with vendors. When I opened this store all I knew how to do was catch bait. So that I did. Little did I know the impact this would have on my family. For two years I was working 7 days a week, 14+ hours a day and sometimes pulling all nighters to catch bait. Thanks to my wife for holding down the fort and spending weekdays and weekends alone with 3 kids and taking the risk financially for our family those first few rough years. Eventually we hired our first employee and with time we grew our staff some more with flaco a, Dillian and . Thanks to my BBC staff, working countless hours and providing the best customer service at all times. These guys are the true experience at Captain Jax. Thanks to a strong community of bait shops we had support. Thanks to I learned how to fill up the store and what I should be filling it with. A lot of other bait stores helped us out when we had questions, , “Arcky’s and .With all that said, the number one reason we made it is because of our customers!!!!! Even tho we didn’t have a lot of tackle on our shelves they keeps coming back to support us!!!!! Ya‘ll are the real ones 💪💪💪 we love y’all

Got an invited to go fishing for mahi with my good friend Scott from . Called up my buddy .ar to join us. Got to the dock at 3 am and started searching for pilchards , after about 20 min we had a livewell full of them only bad part is that they were kind of small. Around 6:10am we started going off shore looking for birds or seaweed. We found the seaweed in no time and we’re on the dolphins. We started catching a bunch of peanuts but ended the day with some nice ones. By 10 am we were geting back to the dock.
