Day 5 and we are up n running here in High Point. We’ve seen some old friends, met new ones, shuffled a ton of product out of this building and entertained each other as usual with dumb antics and dorky jokes. That’s the vibe here, it’s come as you are and buy some beautiful and unique pieces in the process (those Fornasetti chairs tho…) .

The group vignette 214 Modern Vintage is one of my favorite moments in the showroom always, because I think it says something about where all of the dealers here are headed, creatively. Apparently we are at the “add a loon, please” stage.

This vignette has a dramatic flair which we are kind of feeling at the moment, with a Paul Evans dining table taking center stage, a very large feathery painting by Walter Kamys to balance out the sharpness of the table, & a postmodern studio made cabinet with a very interesting material combination of pottery base and wooden case. Italian pottery and aubergine glass round out the vibe but the loon decoy… the loon decoy is the “why tf not” punctuation on the whole thing. Cuz honestly, why not?

I think Jon D Marquis might take issue with me posting this photo of him on his throne but 1) it clearly illustrates just how dedicated our dealers are to bringing you truly special pieces 2) he’s really got no say cuz I’m the boss.

But back to the gear; this bronze wall sculpture from The Hudson Mercantile paired with this chair from Trilogy Antiques + Design looked amazing with the table from Gillian Bryce Gallery and copper & glass centerpiece from Stephanie Schofield . Though this was a couple years ago, one thing is for certain: there will be equally amazing pieces front and center again this High Point Market and we can’t wait to show them off to you! Don’t miss it!
