Wings. Premier Shop. God is so good and faithful all the time. 🤍
This post isn’t meant to boast or brag. It’s actually the opposite. I want to put into words how deeply grateful we are, because these wings represent so much more to us than a badge beside our name.
This did not come easy. Not even a little bit. There has been stress, anxiety, doubt, tears, and a lot of second and third guessing. There has also been a whole lot of prayer.
We are Hailey & Matt—a husband and wife with two little boys, Hudson and Braylen. About 8 months ago, I was a stay-at-home mom who wanted to contribute financially to our family. My best friend, Sara (Magpie Vintage Parlor) (who I met in one of her shows before I was ever a seller) encouraged me to take the leap with Whatnot and I did.
We’ve had $0 shows. We’ve had 8 people in the room. We’ve spent hours live and sold one item. We’ve wondered if this was going to work. We’ve questioned ourselves more times than I can count, but we kept going, pushing, and grinding.
My mom and step-dad, Tracy and Rob, help watch the boys. My nana and papaw, Bonnie & Buddy, help watch the boys. My father-in-law, Matthew (or BIG MATT 😂) helps us source. My little brother, Carson, and sister-in-law, Susanna, help us source. Matt’s grandma and grandpa, Connie & Vance, help us source. Matt’s mom and stepdad, Chelle & Terry, remind us that sometimes we need to put the work down, take a break, and go get Icees. My aunt Ashley is always getting us boxes to help cut down on shipping costs.
Those things may sound small, but they aren’t. Every hour someone has given us is an hour that helped us build this. We will never take that for granted.
Eight months ago, this was a fever dream. There have been countless nights running on 2 or 3 hours of sleep. We’ve sourced all day, gone live at night, and packed orders until the sun came up. We’ve eaten dinner at ridiculous hours, lived off caffeine, and told each other “we’ll sleep when we finish” more times than I can count. There were nights we were so exhausted we didn’t know how we’d do it again the next day.
God has had His hand ALL OVER this. We prayed when there were 8 people in the room. We prayed after the $0 shows. We prayed through the fear and the doubt. We prayed when things started growing. And we’re still praying now.
There have been too many perfectly timed opportunities, too many opened doors, and too many answered prayers for us not to recognize God’s faithfulness through all of this, and that’s why the blessing isn’t just Premier Shop or the wings. The blessing is getting to build something together as husband and wife. It’s our boys watching mom and dad work toward something together.
THAT is the blessing.
So yes, we’re proud of these wings. We worked incredibly hard for them. What I feel more than pride is gratitude. Gratitude for our family. Our friends. Every person who bought an item, shared a show, sourced for us, watched our babies, brought us boxes, prayed for us, encouraged us, or simply spent their time with us.
And above absolutely everything else, gratitude to God. Because He was good when nobody was buying. He was good when we were exhausted. He was good when we were scared. He was good before the wings. And He is still good now.
With so much gratitude and love,
Hailey & Matt 🤍
