The fireworks are ready. The sparklers are lit. The lemonade is chilling on the porch.

And somewhere, just beyond the glow of the backyard lanterns, the previous occupants of the house are quietly judging your grilling technique.

There is something about a Fourth of July evening that feels thinner than ordinary nights. The warm breeze carries music from three streets over. Fireflies drift through the yard like wandering embers. Old houses settle and creak as they always have, though perhaps not always for the reasons we've told ourselves.

Porch swings move when the air is perfectly still.

An empty rocking chair gives a gentle sway.

Someone standing beside you seems very interested in the fireworks despite not appearing in any of the family photographs.

If you hear an extra voice joining in during the patriotic songs, simply smile and carry on. Some traditions are older than the nation itself, and some guests have been attending the celebration for much longer than anyone realizes.

From all of us at Totally 'Not' Haunted, we wish you a wonderful Fourth of July filled with family, friends, good food, beautiful fireworks, and only the expected number of unexplained footsteps on the stairs after everyone has gone to bed.

🎆 Happy Fourth of July, and remember — if the attic starts applauding after the grand finale, it is only being polite. 🎆

June always feels like an invitation.

The soft warm winds drift through the trees carrying the scent of rain, wildflowers, and distant thunderstorms, whispering of long-forgotten places and beckoning wanderers a little farther down lonely roads. Porch lights glow later into the evening, old screen doors creak softly in the dark, and somewhere out beyond the edges of town, the shadows seem to stretch themselves awake beneath the summer sky.

It’s the perfect season for wandering.

And wander I have.

Over the last several weeks I’ve been gathering new additions for Totally “Not” Haunted from all across the shadowed corners of the Midwest. Curious little relics. Beautifully eerie antiques. Forgotten objects tucked away in old trunks, dusty shelves, abandoned corners, and quiet places where time seems to move just a bit differently.

Some feel peaceful.

Some feel watchful.

And a few seemed very determined not to be left behind.

This newest collection has already begun arriving at the shop and booth, and I truly think you’re going to love what’s coming this summer. Haunted nursery pieces, strange old photographs, forgotten dolls, mourning-era treasures, religious relics, peculiar little oddities—all waiting patiently for the right caretaker to wander along.

Because while the rest of the world is busy chasing sunshine and beach days…some of us are still listening to the whispers in the old places.

New arrivals appearing throughout June.

A new little resident has arrived at Totally “Not” Haunted… and she is searching for her next caretaker. 🕯️

This sweet blonde composition doll once belonged to a little girl during the Great Depression, back when a beloved doll wasn’t simply a toy, but a constant companion through long winters, quiet evenings, and uncertain times. Her sleepy eyes still open and close, though perhaps a bit more slowly than they once did.

She’s wonderfully charming. Slightly unsettling. And seems very interested in watching absolutely everything happening in the room.

Naturally, we are sure that means nothing at all.

If you’ve been searching for the perfect addition to your gothic décor, haunted nursery aesthetic, dark academia collection, or eerie curio cabinet, she is now available and patiently waiting to be chosen.

We have been welcoming a few new residents lately…

A tiny collection of antique medicine bottles has arrived, still carrying that delightful old apothecary charm that says, “This tonic may cure your cough… or awaken something ancient beneath the floorboards.”

Several Civil War relics from Dalton, Georgia have also taken up residence, looking wonderfully dramatic and full of mysterious history.

And then there’s the little 1930s doll.

We don’t like to gossip about the antiques, of course… but he does seem awfully pleased with herself.

If your heart longs for candlelit hallways, dusty libraries, curious relics, haunted manor vibes, gothic whimsy, and charmingly eerie treasures, the newest arrivals are waiting very patiently for visitors.

After all, every object deserves a happy haunting place to call home.

You can wander the halls and visit the collection at:

Until we creak open the doors again…

Stay delightfully spooky.

Greetings, fellow wanderers 🌿🖤

May has arrived at last, and with it comes warm air, long evenings, thunderstorms rolling across the horizon, and that strange restless feeling that seems to wake with the earth itself. The world outside has come alive again with blossoms, birdsong, and golden evenings, but my path always seems to lead elsewhere—to forgotten places, lonely back roads, weathered old buildings, and quiet corners where the silence feels just a little too heavy and the stories never quite left.

While some spend May chasing sunshine and fresh air, those of us drawn to stranger things tend to wander a little closer to the shadows. I’ve been slipping in and out of the shadow lands in search of new treasures for the shop—strange little relics, forgotten photographs, and curious objects with histories that seem to linger just beneath the surface. The sort of things that feel like they’ve been patiently waiting for someone to bring them home again.

There’s something about this season that makes the veil feel softer in a different way than autumn. Less sharp. Less mournful. In May, the shadows seem almost sleepy—stretching themselves awake beneath blooming trees and golden evening light. It’s a beautiful time for wandering cemeteries, exploring old towns, digging through weathered boxes in antique barns, and listening carefully to the stories objects still carry with them.

Totally ‘Not’ Haunted was never meant to exist only for Halloween. The strange and beautiful deserve a place all year long. A haunted summer evening can be every bit as magical as an October night, after all.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be bringing in many new finds gathered from my recent travels through the shadow lands, and I cannot wait to share them with all of you. Some are unsettling. Some are oddly beautiful. Some…well…they’ve already made themselves known.

As always, you can find us at Booth 5124 inside the Heart of Ohio Antique Center or wandering the halls of our online shop at https://tnhauntedantiques.etsy.com.

Greetings, curious souls…

In Delaware County stands a place where time did not move on—it settled in and stayed. The Historic Jail and Sheriff’s Residence has watched generations pass through its doors… and some, it seems, never truly left.

I’ve been working with the local historical society, and I thought a few of you might feel that familiar pull—the quiet kind you can’t quite explain—to come and see it for yourselves… especially after dark.

We host ghost hunts within its walls, where footsteps echo down empty corridors, doors shift when no one is near them, and the air has a way of changing without warning. It is not loud or theatrical. It is subtle. Patient. The kind of place that reveals itself slowly… if it chooses to at all.

I’ve included a flyer and a few photos, though images tend to miss the important things. They don’t capture the feeling of being watched… or the way the building seems to notice when you’ve arrived.

Public tours are a gentler introduction—just enough to step inside, listen, and decide how close you’d like to get.
Private investigations… well, those tend to go a bit deeper. The building seems to respond differently when fewer people are present.

I’ll share the ticket link below for anyone who feels drawn to come.

Some places hold history.
Some places hold something else.

This one… does not like to be forgotten.
