The City is in the design phase for our future community Wellness Center, and the first public review of concept plans by City Council will be at a special meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 3800 Municipal Way.

While the present design is still open to change, the amenities in the future Wellness Center will include an aquatics center with indoor pools and play area, gymnasium space, a second floor "adventure course" running track, workout areas, indoor playground, classrooms, a senior lounge, healthy cooking and commercial kitchens, aerobics, spinning, and more.

The Council meeting will be streamed live on the City's website and is open to the public.

Attention motorists! School is out this week, which means work on two important projects in the City of Hilliard will begin on Monday, June 3.

--------

Scioto Darby Road & Leppert Road Improvements

Work to complete construction on Scioto Darby Road between Cosgray Road and Bradford Drive will begin on Monday, June 3 and is expected to be complete by July 3, weather permitting. The tentative schedule is as follows:

June 3 – June 15: Repair work and preparation for paving.
June 17 – July 3: Paving operations (including raised crosswalks and lane marking).
Work will take place between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Paving of through lanes will be accomplished through lane closures and routing of traffic into adjacent lanes. Paving of the roundabouts may require full closures to allow crews to work. Access will be maintained to all properties; however, motorists should expect significant delays along the corridor between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. during paving operations and are strongly encouraged to plan for extra time or alternate routes.

This project widened Scioto Darby Road to two lanes in each direction, installed two roundabouts, and added trails, sidewalks, lighting, and crosswalk improvements.

--------

Main Street Roundabout Modifications

June 3 – July 3: Geometric changes to the islands at the Main Street and Scioto Darby Road roundabout.

July 8 – August 15: Resurfacing, raised crosswalks, overhead signs, and changes to lane markings at the Main Street and Cemetery Road roundabout.

Work will take place between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Vehicle lanes will be reduced from two lanes to one lane for work. Short term, full closures of one leg of the Main Street and Cemetery Road intersection at a time may occur for paving operations; in these situations, traffic will be re-routed to adjacent streets. Access will be maintained to all properties. Motorists should expect delays between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Work is scheduled to be complete by August 15.

These improvements are designed to reduce the number of crashes at this intersection and make lane selection more obvious to motorists.
