I just completed a major restoration project on this 1968 Martin D-35 12-string. It came into the shop pretty beat up. The bridge was coming loose, it needed a neck reset, a new pickguard and a new bone saddle. Now it’s leaving the shop playing like a new guitar.

A 1972 Martin D-35 can into the shop needing some major surgery. I just completed a neck reset, repaired the binding that came loose and made a new bone saddle. Tomorrow, I’ll do a fret level and dress, make a new bone nut and get it setup to play effortlessly. Stay tuned!

I had a great time visiting Bryan Galloup. We had nice dinner. We great conversation on grading wood, voicing techniques and his new “wood grading” software. It was a fun and informative trip. I can’t wait to incorporate a few of Bryan’s trade secrets when voicing my next build.

I started spraying the nitrocellulose lacquer on this acoustic today. I should finish up tomorrow. In about a month, this one goes to its new owner. Stay tuned!
