When you’re picking out your tomato or pepper plants for the season, what’s your strategy? Assuming the cost is the same:

Option 1: One sturdy, single plant that's a bit further along.
Option 2: A 4-pack of smaller starters to give you more plants to spread out.

Our hibiscus finally bloomed! It is huge this year. If you're still looking one for your yard. We have three left. Stormy stormy night, ballet slippers and Candy crush. 2 gal pots for $27.00

The hydrangeas trees are just starting to bloom. Come and grab yours before they're gone. The variety pictured below is Berry White. Cone-shaped pentacles that start out white then transform to dark pink and almost cranberry red as the season progresses. 6 to 8 ft tall and 4 to 5 ft wide.

Yes, we have all seen them. Japanese beetles. Do they seem even worse this year? Neem Oil and Milky Spore is what works for us and we highly recommend using both as a preventive, but if you missed your window, it is still not too late.

This year's beetle damage looks brutal — bare stems, shredded leaves, a plant that looks half-dead by July. We have officially wrapped up with our regular hours at Hillsboro Hosta and Greenhouse, but we aren't completely tucked in for the winter just yet!

We will be open by appointment from now until Labor Day and a few select Saturdays from 10-Noon
