Please plan to join us in Hobart when the iconic blues/rock guitarist, vocalist and band leader PAT TRAVERS meets with fans at Tom Lounges Record Bin (218 Main St.) in downtown Hobart, IN. The store event is on Friday, June 12th at 5:30p.m. sharp.

Pat will stop at the store before he and the band tear it up that night at Hobart Art Theatre (230 Main St.) just two doors down the street. Get ready for an outrageously cool day in a small town.

This week’s Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges features iconic rock drummer Carmine Appice who spend the hour discussing his long and varied career, his many band projects, and the creation of his newest release "TEMPLE OF THE BLUES: VOL. II" by his CACTUS ALL-STARS.

Appice’s latest recording Cactus All-Stars recording project features an array of top talents like Ted Nugent, Pat Travers, Rudy Sarzo, Melanie, Billy Sheehan, Eric Gales and other special guest performers. The sessions, the tour dates, and more are discussed.

A half dozen songs from the new album, “TEMPLE OF THE BLUES: VOL. II,” are spotlighted tonight on the program.

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL!!! Tomorrow in downtown Crown Town!!!

The FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES kicks off tomorrow (TUESDAY, JUNE 2nd) with THE BROTHERLYS (featuring Kenny "Buddy" James) and a full concert performance by JADE '50s (featuring Joe Cantafio).

Lots of killer '50s and '60s rock 'n' roll with a touch of theater added will be the live soundtrack to accompany the season's FIRST CAR CRUISE NIGHT at Crown Point's Bulldog Park (just off the downtown square).

GATES OPEN: 4p.m / MUSIC STARTS: 4:15p.m.

The Bulldog Pavilion Free Summer Concert Series is produced by Tom Lounges Entertainment, LLC in partnership with The City of Crown Point.

Sad to report that the revered jazz tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins died at his home in Woodstock, New York at the age of 95 on Memorial Day, May 25th.

Across more than six decades, Rollins was a featured player on more than 100 albums, collaborating with such icons of jazz as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk. Rollins even straddled the fence and accepted an offer from Mick Jagger to guest on the Rolling Stones 1981 chart hit, “Waiting on a Friend,” which landed at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rollins was a two-time Grammy Award winner, and also received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 2004. Rollins received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2011 and was bestowed with honorary doctorates from over 10 universities, including such prestigious institutions as Duke, Wesleyan, Juilliard and Berklee College of Music.
