Lincoln Museum Charter Member, Jim Shaw, Sr., hosted a tour with Karen and William Mclaren who are visiting Hodgenville from Perth, Scotland. A fourth-generation beef cattle farmer, Mclaren’s Aberdeen Angus herd spans 102 years. He is serving as judge for the LaRue County Fair’s beef cattle show on Saturday, August 1 beginning at 10 am. Mclaren has served as a beef cattle judge in 19 different countries.
Fun Fact: Scotland is home to the first statue of Abraham Lincoln erected outside of the United States. Known as the Scottish-American Soldiers Monument, it is located in the Old Calton Cemetery in Edinburgh.
