To our Cora Mae’s family,
This is a post I never imagined I would have to write, and one I have put off for as long as I possibly could.
With a very heavy heart, I have made the difficult decision to close the storefront of Cora Mae’s Corner.
When I opened these doors, I had so many hopes for what this little shop could become. It was never just about selling clothes, vintage treasures, or home goods. I wanted to create a place that felt welcoming—a little corner of our community where people could come in, browse, visit, laugh, and hopefully leave with something that made them smile.
Unfortunately, over the past several months, sales have fallen drastically. I have continued trying to push forward, hoping things would turn around, but sales are simply no longer enough to cover the monthly expenses required to keep the store open. As much as my heart wants to keep going, financially, I cannot continue to operate at a loss.
There is a lot of emotion behind those words.
I am incredibly grateful to every person who walked through our doors, shared a Facebook post, told a friend about us, brought in items, shopped our sales, supported our events, or simply stopped by to say hello. Every purchase—big or small—helped me keep this dream alive longer than you probably realize.
To everyone who believed in Cora Mae’s Corner: thank you.
Owning this little store has taught me so much. There have been beautiful days, stressful days, exciting days, and days when I wondered how I would keep everything going. But through all of them, I have been reminded how much kindness and support exist in our community.
I wish this announcement had a different ending. Sometimes loving something deeply isn’t enough to make the numbers work, and recognizing when it’s time to close a chapter is one of the hardest parts of owning a small business.
Over the month of October, we will have 40% your entire purchase.
We will continue selling online, with more details coming later, although we won’t have a physical storefront.
Until then, please know how genuinely thankful I am that you gave Cora Mae’s Corner a chance.
This little shop was a dream of mine, and because of all of you, I got to live that dream.
With love and gratitude,
Cora Mae, Alyssa, Madison, and Adyson
Remember, grace never goes out of style.
