🪙 Throwback Thursday: The First U.S. Gold Coin 🪙

Before the United States became known for its iconic gold coins, the very first official U.S. gold coin was the 1795 Half Eagle ($5). Struck just a few years after the U.S. Mint opened, these coins were produced by hand-operated presses, making each one slightly unique.

With a limited mintage and over 230 years of history, surviving examples are highly sought after by collectors. They represent the beginning of America’s journey in producing its own gold coinage and remain an important piece of numismatic history.

💬 Question of the Day: If you could own one historic U.S. coin, which would it be and why? Tell us in the comments!

📚 Education Wednesday: What Does “MS70” Really Mean?

Did you know that not every brand-new coin earns a perfect grade?

MS70 stands for Mint State 70 the highest grade a business strike coin can receive. It means the coin has no post-production imperfections visible under 5x magnification and represents the finest known condition.

Why collectors care:

* 🦅 Top-quality coins are often the most desirable.
* 📈 Higher grades can command stronger premiums.
* 🛡️ Professional grading helps authenticate and protect your investment.

Question of the day:
Would you rather own a rare coin with wear and history, or a modern coin in flawless MS70 condition? Tell us why in the comments!

🦅 Tuesday Treasure: 2026-W Enhanced Uncirculated American Silver Eagle

One of the most exciting modern U.S. Mint releases is the 2026-W Enhanced Uncirculated American Silver Eagle.

Created to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, this special edition features a Liberty Bell “250” privy mark and an Enhanced Uncirculated finish. Unlike a standard uncirculated coin, this finish combines multiple polishing and frosting techniques to create incredible contrast, making every detail of Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty and Emily Damstra’s soaring eagle stand out beautifully.

Why collectors care:
⭐ Celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States.
⭐ Features the highly sought-after Liberty Bell “250” privy mark.
⭐ Enhanced Uncirculated finish is used only on select special releases.
⭐ Contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
⭐ Strong collector demand due to its unique design, limited availability, and historical significance.

Whether you’re building a Silver Eagle collection or looking for a standout modern issue, the 2026 Enhanced Uncirculated Silver Eagle is a coin that combines American history, artistry, and precious metal value in one remarkable release.

Would you add this anniversary Silver Eagle to your collection? Let us know in the comments! 🇺🇸

📈 Market Monday

When gold and silver prices move, it’s about more than just numbers on a chart.

For collectors, changing metal prices can increase interest in key dates, certified coins, and limited-mintage pieces as demand shifts.

For investors, precious metals have long been viewed as a way to diversify portfolios and help preserve purchasing power during periods of economic uncertainty.

Whether you’re collecting for history or investing for the future, understanding the market can help you make more informed decisions.

Things Your Grandparents Knew About Money That Many People Have Forgotten…

Before digital wallets and online accounts, people understood the value of holding something real.

Many families saved:
🪙 Coins passed down through generations
🥈 Silver pieces kept for their lasting value
📜 Collections that carried stories from one generation to the next

To them, money wasn’t just a number on a screen—it was something tangible, something they could hold, protect, and pass along.

Every coin has a story. Sometimes that story is about history. Sometimes it’s about family.

💬 Did your family ever have a coin collection, silverware, or a special piece of currency passed down through generations? Tell us about it below.
