TL;DR — I’m alive but no longer sewing. I’ve moved on to new things! Thanks for following and supporting me over the last decade ❤️

10 years ago I started sewing. I bought a sewing machine, watched YouTube videos, and dove into the hobby. As a new stay-at-home mom I felt like I needed something to fill my time, and I enjoyed the accomplishment of sewing clothes for my daughter.

8 years ago I opened Q&J. I loved the challenge of starting a business and all that entailed. I took breaks here and there, but I always came back to this space eager to begin new projects.

In December of 2021 I stopped sewing. I no longer felt inspired and my neck/shoulders were wrecked from being hunched over a cutting table and a sewing machine for years. With my new free time I began to focus on flexibility/mobility, reading, and creative writing. 6 months later I still feel no inclination to return to the sewing space and am still loving these new hobbies.

All this to say, thanks for following and supporting me the past decade. Some of you have messaged me to ask for custom orders, and I’m so sorry I haven’t responded. I kept waiting to see if I felt like re-opening, but it seems that day isn’t going to come. I wanted to make a post to let everyone know I appreciate your support of this little shop, but it’s time to close it down. At this point I’m not sure if I’ll re-open, but if I do, it won’t be any time soon. Thanks for all the love.

My daughter and I were scrolling through old Q&J pictures and we came across some old favorites. I haven’t been feeling creative lately, so it’s encouraging to see old makes I loved!
