Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all of the people, places, memories and things we are grateful for. When I count all of the many things I am grateful for in my life I count Aspen Avery twice.
Join me in supporting Aspen in his next grand adventure. If you don't already have the joy of knowing Aspen Avery here is a little bit about Aspen, his passion for swimming and his next journey to the 2026 Special Olympics USA games :
Aspen Avery has been a competitive swimmer since he was 5 years old. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the soothing feel of the water gave him comfort and enjoyment. He discovered the Special Olympics organization in 2012 and has gained valuable training, competition, and camaraderie with his fellow teammates.
Aspen won 3 Gold Medals at the State Meet, held at CMU in the summer. Through a nomination and selection process, Aspen was chosen as part of the Team Michigan delegation, to attend the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, being held in Minneapolis in June 2026.
The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will unite 3,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, 10,000 volunteers, and 75,000 fans from all 50 states.
Aspen is raising money to help cover the costs of training, travel and additional expenses.
