Fishing Report!
Salmon
fish are being caught limits taken. The fish are scattered however moss landing seems to be the hot spot!! with the most reported hook ups! there are fish being taken allover the bay for that matter there is reports of fish being taken as far as 7 miles out!

Striped Bass
Stripers in the bay the bite is HOT!! the word is getting out drawing fisherman from theyre couches!! lol the bite is good in the spring when the run is good! and this year is quickly shaping up to be another good year for stripers! the fish at this time of the year are generally shakers(small fish) but some good fish are being taken! The "Hogs"(big fish) as we affectionately refer to them usually come in during the summer from around July to August! as far as fresh water! San Louis is producing fish but nothing consistent! fish are being taken trolling, dropping live bait! or bank fishing!! anchovies and mackerel are good baits to use from shore! as they are both very oily fish and disperse much scent! There is just so much water in the lake the fish are getting harder to find!

Bass
bite is good! coyote calero, andersen and san luis creek are all producing fish! drop shotting a aarons magic 6 inch straight tailed worm seems to be a great color for producing fish from our local lakes. Ned rigging a craw and dragging or pumping the bottom from deep to shallow seems to work very well! the key to ned rigging is having control of contact with the bottom! Try creek arms as the water warms up faster in creeks! and its the beginning of spring!

Trout
well trout fishing is excellent in all the streams that run out of the sierras this time of year! the BEST bait for trout is fresh crawdad meat in my opinion! a piece of white crawdad meat coated with some garlic hatchery dust is sure to be a winning combination. As far as local trout the DFG has been steadily stocking the upper Nacimento river with catchable size
trout! that and the 3 kings river below the pine flat reservoir. For information on which local lakes and streams are being stocked call 1707-944-5581
