Well, Dr. Danny (hubby is not a doctor) prescribed a little getaway, and I do believe it did the trick!

36 hours in South Louisiana, doing a little pickin’, a little shoppin’, and a whole lot of treasure huntin’ through some of my favorite places! And you know I couldn’t come home empty-handed! Who me?

I found some fabulous goodies, and they’re all headed back to Homer to find their new homes at Dusty Rose Vintage!

Something INCREDIBLE just happened! A group of young ladies from Minden just walked into the door, bypassed everything...and visited the Fox and Fable book nook inside our store. Their grown up let me know right away that the young ladies were in the store to shop for books. The young man with them and I chatted about some writers he might like while the ladies shopped. I'm sharing this because it's WONDERFUL that news of this special place has become important to our young people too! I was BIG GRINNING chatting with them at checkout as I packaged their purchases.

First stop on the trip yielded….

-A glass cloche (tall, perfect for those butter pat stacks)
-J & G Meakin England ironstone potty (potty in style!)
-four lovely vintage artichoke plates
-a small naked lamp shade (I love old shades that the grossness has been ripped off of you and have this wonderful brass looking shade skeleton!)
-a vintage bluebird surprise for my bluebird friend 🐦

When you get to that really great gas station off I-49 in Natchitoches, the gas station food just keeps getting better and better. If you and I are on a thrifting trip and we stop at a gas station in South Louisiana, what are you walking out with? No need to worry, I would’ve already taken two immodiums by then. 🤦‍♀️
