Stop in and Sea some of our saltiest friends! Shops are still open. Final days (and sales) are on the horizon!

She dies off real quick out here - but we are die hards - and we are still open 🤘. Ooooorrr maybe I just don’t mind having this boardwalk and these sunshines all to myself out here… A little vanilla birch tea, maybe some painting later? Have I mentioned that I love my job?

The thing is, I think this time of year is when we get the best/coolest customers. The ones worth staying open for. The pace is slow, the hurry is gone and travelers will come into the shop and chat with nowhere to be. & it seems: People who get to know us are more likely to come back to us again. Online, or in person or stay with us in our bnb’s.

Without 50 people in the shop, we get to talk about the salt harvesting process [omg I just saw a puppy on the beach 😍]… and what it’s like to live in Alaska in the winter time. and THEN they understand that we have special things that are actually made by humans, right here in Homer, and idk about y’all, but to me that seems an ever increasingly rare thing to stumble upon in this day and Ai-ge (hey that’s clever…).

So it’s cool. I love this time of year.

&& when people don’t stroll in, britni has lots of time to sip tea and ramble on insta posts.

A human is coming! I’ll be back.
